The Friday Face-Off: School

The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!

This week’s theme: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” – A cover featuring a school.

So I swore I was going to try to find something other than Harry Potter for this prompt, but I’ve caved and chosen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, simply because I couldn’t think of anything else. I found other books that take place in school settings, but the trick was finding a book with a school on the cover. Also, this series is perfect for the theme this week, and I chose the last book because that’s where Hogwarts is destroyed:-D Take a look at some of the covers I found:

U.S. Scholastic edition 2007 | Ukrainian edition 2007

Australian edition 2015 | U.S. 20th Anniversary edition 2018

Spanish edition 2015 | Indonesian edition 2018

Czech edition 2018 | Dutch edition 2013

This one is tough! As you can imagine, there are a lot of covers to choose from. I really love the Australian, Indonesian and the 20th Anniversary editions, but ultimately I think it’s hard to beat the Ukrainian edition, it’s simply stunning:

If I could figure out a way to buy a copy of this, I would:-D But what do you think? Which one is your favorite?

  1. Great choice of book, Tammy – I’m glad I’m not the only one who found this week’s theme HARD! Yep – it has to be the Ukranian cover which is awesome. That Australian cover is terrifying! Happy Holidays!

I really thought everyone would pick Harry Potter, so that’s why I was trying to choose something else, lol.
