Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
Hey folks, it’s the last Wednesday of the year! Just enough time to sneak in one last “wishlist” book, and I have a good one:
What if someone could rewrite your entire life?
“My son has been erased.” Those are the last words the woman tells Barry Sutton, before she leaps from the Manhattan rooftop.
Deeply unnerved, Barry begins to investigate her death, only to learn that this wasn’t an isolated case. All across the country, people are waking up to lives different from the ones they fell asleep to. Are they suffering from False Memory Syndrome, a mysterious new disease that afflicts people with vivid memories of a life they never lived? Or is something far more sinister behind the fracturing of reality all around him?
Miles away, neuroscientist Helena Smith is developing a technology that allows us to preserve our most intense memories and relive them. If she succeeds, anyone will be able to reexperience a first kiss, the birth of a child, the final moment with a dying parent.
Barry’s search for the truth leads him on an impossible, astonishing journey as he discovers that Helena’s work has yielded a terrifying gift–the ability not just to preserve memories but to remake them . . . at the risk of destroying what it means to be human.
At once a relentless thriller and an intricate science fiction puzzle box, Recursion is a deeply felt exploration of the flashbulb moments that define us–and who we are without them.
Incursion by Blake Crouch. Releases in June 2019 from Crown Books. I fell hard for Crouch’s Dark Matter a couple of years ago, and I’ve been stalking the author ever since. FINALLY, he’s got a new book coming out, and it sounds just as exciting and twisty! I don’t even need to read the blurb, this is a MUST READ.
I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful holiday season! It’s bittersweet to get to the end of the year and look back at everything you’ve done, seen, read and experienced, but it’s also thrilling to look forward to new books and possibilities in 2019:-D
Oh, damn… this sounds pretty good! And by that i mean terrifying and anxiety inducing 😀
Ha ha, I know what you mean:-)
CANNOT WAIT. I loved Dark Matter so much. I’m dying for this one!
Yay another fan!
Sounds pretty intriguing. I did enjoy Dark Matter even though it’s not my normal type of read. Will have to keep this one in mind once it’s out.
I’ll let you know how it is, when I get to read it:-)
AHHHHHH!!!! I also fell hard for Dark Matter. This is amazing news 😀
I know, amazing news indeed! I feel like I read Dark Matter YEARS ago.
Oh! This wasnt on my radar, so just added it to Goodreads as I loved Dark Matter!!! Also curious to see what you do to WoW next week 🙂

I’m still working on my “plan,” I figure I have a week left, lol.
This sounds so good, Tammy, especially because you enjoyed Dark Matter! I have that one here and need to read it!
Oh it’s a bunch of fun!
Oooh, new Blake Crouch!
Right?? Something to celebrate:-)
Dark Matter totally captured my imagination, so I’m quite happy to see that this author has something equally intriguing in store for us 🙂
Thanks for sharing!

I’m so excited to read another of his books! And this looks in the vein of Dark Matter, twisty and crazy, so it should be fun:-)

I’ve been doing Waiting on Wednesday for so many years, it’s time to change things up:-)
Can’t wait to see your new spin, How exciting. I’ve not read any Crouch yet. One of my favorite Booktubers fell in love with Dark Matter too and went back and read a lot of his backlist but really only found one more she really liked. Hope this one is good.
I haven’t read anything else by him, and I only know about Wayward Pines, which I haven’t read yet.
I’m excited to see your new spin on this meme. Blake writes some twisty plots, doesn’t he!

Yes, he’s very good at twisty:-)
Oh heck yes! Another Blake Crouch, I’m totally on board with this!
Right? I feel like I’ve been waiting years for this!
I felt the same way about Dark Matter! Loved it, and this one sounds twisty and trippy too . Can’t wait!!!
I’m glad he’s writing another book in the same vein, Dark Matter was so well done!
Oh yay! I didn’t realize he had another book coming out. I loved Dark Matter so I can’t wait to read more from Crouch.

It does, if it’s anything like Dark Matter, it’s going to rock!
I didn’t know about this but I’m definitely psyched about it now. 😛 Gonna have to dust off my copy of Dark Matter and read it before Recursion though hahaha 😛

Can’t wait to read about your new ‘spin’.
