Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
I’ve read some very good “traveling to a distant planet/shipboard drama in space” stories lately, and here’s one more that sounds like it’s going to be fantastic! Also, I wanted to share both the U.S. and UK covers because I love both:
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planetmeets The 100in this unforgettable debut by a brilliant new voice.
A century ago, scientists theorised that a habitable planet existed in a nearby solar system. Today, ten astronauts will leave a dying Earth to find it. Four are decorated veterans of the 20th century’s space-race. And six are teenagers, graduates of the exclusive Dalton Academy, who’ve been in training for this mission for most of their lives.
It will take the team 23 years to reach Terra-Two. Twenty-three years spent in close quarters. Twenty-three years with no one to rely on but each other. Twenty-three years with no rescue possible, should something go wrong. And something always goes wrong.
Do You Dream of Terra-Two? by Temi Oh. Releases in March 2019 from Saga Press (U.S.) and Simon & Schuster UK. Things going wrong in space? Yes, please. I’ll read about that anytime:-D
I dont read alot of books involving space but this sounds interesting. I prefer the second cover!
I love both covers, but I do think covers with people on them are more interesting
Sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing and I hope you had a great time at ComiCon!
I had a great time! I’m doing a recap post on Saturday
Something always does go wrong in space. lol But yep, I’ll likely be reading this too.

You had me at the strapline… You are SERIOUSLY bad for my TBR! I’m going to have to track this one down – it’s sounds far too good!
Ha ha, so sorry Sarah! I really don’t try to add to your TBR on purpose;-)
Oh, we wants thiss ssso very much, Preciousssss!!! 😀
A colony ship, a long voyage and deadly trouble… what more could I possibly ask for?

Wow! This book looks amazing and I can’t wait to add it to my TBR. 🙂
It does look and sound amazing, I hope we both get the chance to read it!
Space travel is always fun! I like the cover on the left. I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!
Have a wonderful day, Tammy. =)

Me too, I really like the US cover, not sure which I like more!
I like the sound of this one. Things going wrong in space usually work for me too lol. And I do like both covers- they’re so different, but both work.

Yes, they are really different, and I like them for different reasons:-)
What a difference a cover makes. To be honest, when I first saw the US cover, I had absolutely no interest in checking out the book. It’s pretty, but it almost looks like it could be the cover to a self-help/inspirational book, if you know what I mean, LOL! I just LOVE the UK cover though. But then again, I always prefer it when characters are featured on book covers.
I actually like the US cover, but you’re right, when you put it next to the UK, it kind of gets blown away!
This one does sound great! I find myself reading more science fiction these days than I ever used to. So much good stuff coming out!
Right? I feel like science fiction is having a huge resurgence, and I love it
I was sold as soon as I read “The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet meets The 100.” That sounds like my kind of book!
OMG!!!! Those covers!!! YES, I LOVE THEM BOTH, TOO!!!! (****Frantically reaches out into empty air, hyperventilating!!!*****) The plot sounds SO good, too!!!! GOTTA have this book!! (And who knows, I might even buy both of these editions!!)
Well, I’m beaming over to Goodreads in a WARP MINUTE to add this one to my BULGING shelves!! LOL.
But seriously, thanks for putting this one on my radar!!! And thanks for commenting on my own CWW post!! <3 🙂
This sounds bloody amazing. Something always does go wrong in space – where nobody can hear you scream. And, I kind of like the first cover best tbh – just to fly in the face of all the other comments lol.
Lynn 😀
Love the short and sweet synopsis. Sounds intriguing! 😀
