Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
This cover just popped up on Goodreads, and I really love the spooky atmosphere it evokes!
The Sixth Sense meets The Girl on the Train in this fast-paced murder mystery with a paranormal twist.
For seventeen-year-old Adele Vanderarde, the dead aren’t really dead. She can see them and even talk to them. When Adele realizes her ex-friend Tori is really a murder victim, she takes it upon herself to help Tori find her killer—before the killer finds Adele—or before Adele is charged with the murder.
Master mystery-writer April Henry weaves another edge-of-your-seat murder mystery—this time with a chilling paranormal twist.
The Lonely Dead by April Henry. Releases in January 2019 from Henry Holt & Company. Henry has written a ton of books, but I’ve never read her. She’s known for her mysteries, and this one has the supernatural element added, which is why I’m gonna read it!
“The Sixth Sense meets The Girl on the Train” that sure does sound fascinating, I think! 😀
Right? Such a great comparison, hopefully the book can live up to it:-)
Ohh, this sounds fun! It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book with ghosts. Thanks for sharing this!

Some of my favorite books have ghosts in them, and it’s been a long time since I’ve read one. So I’m looking forward to the ghost story as well:-)
That is a terrific cover and it sounds thrilling. I’m waiting to get my hands on Sea Witch.

I’ve heard awesome things about Sea Witch!
For some reason April Henry sounds so familiar, but it doesn’t seem like I’ve read any of her books. I didn’t even remember tagging this book on Goodreads as one to watch, but apparently I did. Something in the book description definitely spoke to me! And I love the cover too!
I had to look up her books, and they are mostly mystery/thrillers. I’m curious to check her out:-)
Oh I totally agree, this cover is wonderfully atmospheric! And this mystery and plot really does have me excited!
I agree, it’s nice to see so many cool looking books already for 2019:-)
Oooo, this is YA? It sounds fantastic. I don’t have a good feel for what is publishing in 2019 in YA – perhaps I should get on that. Great choice, Tammy!
Have a lovely day. =)

I think it is YA, although the cover looks like it could go either way. Thanks for visiting, Alyssa!
Murder mystery plus paranormal? Hell yes, I’m here for it! Ghost stories are some of my favourites, too.

I love a good ghost story as well, I hope this is a good one:-)
Wow, that cover is so cool! The Sixth Sense meets The Girl on the Train is a pretty enticing comparison too. Great pick!
I agree, The Sixth Sense meets ANYTHING works for me:-)
I see dead people – sign me up for this one! Great pick!
Sounds interesting. I love a good ghost story.
Ooooh! I’ve read a couple April Henry books and she’s quite a suspenseful writer. This one does sound good… think it’s going on my list. 🙂
I’ve not read this author before but that’s an eye catching cover and a ghost story is always intriguing.
