Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
I just finished reading K.D. Edwards’ debut The Last Sun, and I was THRILLED to see the cover for the second book in the series this past week! Way to go Pyr, making me crazy about a January 2019 release! Take a look:
The last member of a murdered House tries to protect his ward from forced marriage to a monster while uncovering clues to his own past.
The Tarot Sequence imagines a modern-day Atlantis off the coast of Massachusetts, governed by powerful Courts based on the traditional Tarot deck.
Rune Saint John, last child of the fallen Sun Throne, is backed into a fight of high court magic and political appetites in a desperate bid to protect his ward, Max, from a forced marital alliance with the Hanged Man.
Rune’s resistance will take him to the island’s dankest corners, including a red light district made of moored ghost ships; the residence of Lady Death; and the floor of the ruling Convocation, where a gathering of Arcana will change Rune’s life forever.
The Hanged Man (The Tarot Sequence #2) by K.D. Edwards releases in January 2019 from Pyr Books. If you are in the dark regarding this series, and you love character-driven, well written urban fantasy, then you should pick up a copy of The Last Sun IMMEDIATELY. I cannot stress that enough. I loved the hell out of this book! If you’ve read the first book then you know why I’m excited (and a little nervous) to learn more about the Hanged Man. (If you missed my review, you can read it here.)
This sounds like a fantastic read. The wat it kinda long, but I think from the sound of it, it will be worth the wait.
The wait is long, but I feel like the time will go by fast:-)
It’s always great when you’re so thrilled with the first book that you can’t wait for the next. Hope you are able to get an early ARC so your wait isn’t so long though!
I will make a deal with the devil for an ARC, lol:-) (Well, maybe not)
Sounds kind of interesting but not sure at the same time…lol. Hope the second one is as good as the first one!
Thanks Stormi!
This sounds really unique and different- and the idea of an Atlantis off the coast of Massachusetts caught my eye too. Nice pick!
The whole idea of a “New Atlantis” is such a great idea.
Sounds interesting and I hope you enjoy it a lot!

Thanks Renee:-)
There have been several mentions of this series lately, and I’ve found myself more and more intrigued by the core concept, so I must take a look at book 1 and see for myself. And the covers are quite eye-catching, which is an added bonus… 🙂

This cover really looks like a Tarot card, which is what this series is based on:-)
OMG – how is this even a thing already. I loved The Last Sun (review up on Monday) and now I want this book in my life. Not a long wait at least. Did I mention that I loved Last Sun already!
Lynn 😀
