Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
I absolutely loved The Naturalist, and I was thrilled to see Mayne has a sequel coming out later this year:
Professor Theo Cray caught one of the most prolific serial killers in history using revolutionary scientific methods. Cut off from university research because of the shroud of suspicion around him after the death of his former student and the aftermath of catching his quarry, Cray tries to rebuild his life but finds himself drawn into another unsolved case.
The desperate father of a missing child, ignored by the authorities and abandoned by his community, turns to Theo for help. The only clues are children’s drawings and an inner-city urban legend about someone called the Toy Man.
To unravel the mystery behind the Toy Man, Theo must set aside his scientific preconceptions and embrace a world where dreams and nightmares carry just as much weight as reality. As he becomes immersed in the case, he discovers a far-reaching conspiracy—one that hasn’t yet claimed its last victim.
Looking Glass (The Naturalist #2) by Andrew Mayne. Releases in March 2018 from Thomas & Mercer. The Naturalist was a happy surprise last year, and I couldn’t be more excited to jump back into the life of Theo Cray. If you love forensic science and lots of action, you’ll love this series!
Ooo… I haven’t yet read The Naturalist, but it’s definitely on my radar – it looks as though you’re starting where you left off last year, Tammy – tracking down really cool books! My WoW this week is a YA time travelling adventure – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2018/01/03/cant-wait-wednesday-3rd-january-2018/
That’s my goal, to track down the best;-)
I think The Naturalist needs to go on my list. I’m a weirdo for forensic science. lol

These are from a small publisher (Inkshares) so I’m not surprised you aren’t familiar with them. But totally worth taking a chance on:-)
Wow, it’s awesome that the sequel is coming out so quickly. I think this one makes me that much more interested in the first one!
I love when you don’t have to wait a year or more for sequels:-)
I still need to start the first book. Better get cracking as this one looks killer too!
