Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
I just about DIED when I saw that the cover for this book had been revealed:
Live fast, die young.
Tam Hashford is tired of working at her local pub, slinging drinks for world-famous mercenaries and listening to the bards sing of adventure and glory in the world beyond her sleepy hometown.
When the biggest mercenary band of all rolls into town, led by the infamous Bloody Rose, Tam jumps at the chance to sign on as their bard. It’s adventure she wants – and adventure she gets as the crew embark on a quest that will end in one of two ways: glory or death.
It’s time to take a walk on the wyld side.
Bloody Rose (The Band #2) by Nicholas Eames. Releases in April 2018 from Orbit. This cover is AMAZING! And I’m so excited to read this sequel, I can’t even tell you. I know the blurb is very short, but hey, one of the characters is named Tam! That makes me pretty happy:-) Are you reading this series?
I haven’t read the first one, Tammy. Is this grimdark? The premise sound wonderfully madcap with some humour – I hope so anyway, or it could be something of a gorefest…
It’s not really grimdark, more fantasy, but lots of humor and fantastic characters:-)
Then it’s going on the list…
Though I absolutely agree with you regarding the cover – it’s wonderful!
This series is new to me but I agree, the covers are quite remarkable and they sound interesting!
I love the style of artwork on these covers, and I’m glad the second book is following the same style:-)
The cover is so detailed and really catches your eye, for sure! This is a new series to me. Sounds like a good one. I hope that you enjoy the next book! 🙂
I’m hoping more people find this series and read it, so good!
I haven’t seen this series before, but it does sound really good. Great picks.

I love the covers too, and I really love the title of the second book:-)
Ok. I always loved the title of the first one but never really considered picking it up but man, I’m going to have to know just so I can read this one. What an awesome cover and I really want to learn all about Rose.
I think you’d enjoy these, really funny but heartwarming too, just all around fantastic IMO.
Hmm! I think I’m going to have to add book one to my tbr! Thanks for sharing, Tammy!
Thanks for visiting, Lauren! I highly recommend this series when you have time.
HA! Don’t you love it when you find a character who shares the same name as yours. 😀 I like the covers of these books – they are so different! I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!
Have a fabulous week, Tammy. =)

“Tammy” is such an old fashioned name that you don’t see it that often. Thank goodness for The Firm!
I can’t wait to read this! It sounds as fun as the first one 😀

It does, and I’m happy to see a female MC!
Oh, golly, yes! I really, really liked Kings of the Wyld, so this is me hitting the preorder button with rampant enthusiasm.
Oh yay, another fan! I wish the release date weren’t so far away
OMG!!! This is wonderful news!!!
I so loved Kings of the Wyld that I can’t wait for this new book to be published 🙂

I saw this on twitter earlier this week – it’s a great cover isn’t it. It fits in really well with the first but I think it’s better. I’ve still got to read the first but there’s plenty of time and I’ve left December very free so I can catch up with things.
Lynn 😀
I haven’t heard of this series yet, I can’t believe it! I just added the first book on my TBR. Thank you so much for the heads up for this slow poke.
I am not familiar with either of these, but they both sound so good! I love the tag line for Bloody Rose. That alone makes me want to read it.
Those covers are AMAZING, and incredibly striking. Tam is a character I would definitely like to learn more about.
Yes, yes, yes, yes. I mean the George R.R. Martin angle doesn’t work for me but everything else does!
