Welcome to another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Today we’re listing the books we’re most excited to read this Spring, and as is my way, I am defining “Spring” as the months of March, April and May. That means, these are the books I am most looking forward to that will be released in those months. Here they are, in order of release date:
Flex by Ferrett Steinmetz. Out now from Angry Robot. I have a digital ARC of this, and I’ll be reading it this month. Many bloggers have already given it very high praise!
The Mechanical (The Alchemy Wars #1) by Ian Tregillis. Out now from Orbit. Here’s another book that is getting very good reviews, which only makes me more excited to read it!
Persona by Genevieve Valentine. Out now from Saga Press. Saga is a new SF/Fantasy imprint that I’m dying to try out, and I’ve heard amazing things about this title.
The Rebirths of Tao (Tao #3) by Wesley Chu. Releases April 7th from Angry Robot. I’m not sure if this is the conclusion to Chu’s series, but I’ve been there every step of the way, and so I am looking forward to Tao’s next adventure.
Positive by David Wellington. Releases April 21 from Harper Voyager. I have an e-ARC of this book, and I can’t wait to read it next month. Wellington does horror really well!
Unseemly Science (The Fall of the Gas-lit Empire #2) by Rod Duncan. Releases May 5 from Angry Robot. I adored book one in the series, and I can’t wait to see if the second book lives up to it.
Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge. Releases May 5 from Balzer + Bray. I loved Cruel Beauty, and despite the fact that the cover makes this book look like a sequel, it isn’t.
The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan. Releases May 19 from Crown. This fantasy for adults sounds amazing! I’ve really been in the mood for stories that take place near the sea, and this one fits the bill perfectly.
Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Releases May 19 from Del Rey. I’ve never read anything by Novik before, but I’ve heard great things about her.
The Awesome by Eva Darrows. Releases May 26 from Ravenstone. A story about monster hunters?? You bet! I’m there. Plus I think this cover is AWESOME.
Are you excited to read any of these books?
I heard nothing but love for the cover of Cruel Beauty. Maybe they just didn’t want to change a good thing! Is Crimson Bound a Red Riding retelling then?… It looks like it.
Also I just picked up The Lives of Tao! Hope you enjoy book 3 when it comes out 🙂

We’ll have to compare notes:-D
I’m curious about The Mechanical. I’ve only seen a few small blurbs, but it’s piqued my interest.

Every review I’ve read has been positive, so I’m getting my own copy soon.
I loved Novik’s His Majesty’s Dragon, so I can’t wait to see what you think about Uprooted!
Oh good! I’ve heard amazing things about her:-)
And my own TBR just got even longer!
Great list 🙂
Cora @ Tea Party Princess
I’m curious about Uprooted, and definitely want to read the first Gas-Lit Empire novel. Positive I’ve had sitting in my review queue since last fall, so it’s about time I get to it soon!
Yep, I have an eARC of Positive that’s coming up to the top of the pile soon!
All of these have really interesting covers, and are new to me. You’ve given me quite the list to ponder over. 😀

Great list! The Awesome has a fantastic cover, and the cover of Crimson Bound is lovely – I haven’t read anything by Rosamund Hodge yet. 🙂
Uprooted is on my list too. I have never read anything by N.Novik too, but I love the sound of this book.
Crimson Bound is definitely not related to Cruel Beauty. I got an ARC so I have already read it. For me the spark was missing, but the world-building was wildly imaginative as usual. I hope you will connect to characters better than me. 🙂
I haven’t heard about Gracekeepers before, but I like the sounds of it. Added to tbr. 🙂

Thank you Britt!
Great picks! Grace Keepers caught my eye the other day too, if I’m remembering correctly it’s a magical realism fantasy and so I’m quite curious about it. Also very much looking forward to Persona (waiting impatiently for my library hold to come in) and Uprooted!

I love the look of the Gracekeepers. Mechanical and Flex I can’t say enough good things about – I loved them both.

There are just TOO MANY BOOKS.
Wow, hadn’t heard of Flex before but that sounds pretty crazy! In a good way. haha 🙂 I’m reading Positive right now and (so far) I’m really enjoying it! The Awesome didn’t make my TTT list but it’ll be up soon for me too! Happy Reading. 🙂
