Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where bloggers are given a theme each week to write a top ten list about. I love these seasonal top tens, where we get to highlight our top ten books for the coming few months. For my purposes here, I am using the definition of “fall” as books that are being released in September, October or November. Many of these I have already talked about, but I want to highlight them all at the same time, so here we go: in order of release date, my Top Ten Books on my Fall TBR (click on the titles to go to Goodreads):
1. City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett. Released on September 9th. I may be reading this by the time this post comes out! I’m so freaking excited about this book, I haven’t heard a single negative thing about it:-)
2. The Shotgun Arcana by R.S. Belcher. Releases October 7th. I also have a copy of this book from Tor, I’m looking forward to continuing the second book in Belcher’s western fantasy series.
3. The Lesser Dead by Christopher Buehlman. Releases on October 7th. This vampire story has been getting lots of positive buzz, and since I’m all about positive buzz, of course I’m going to check it out!
4. The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters. Releases October 14th. I have an eARC of this book, which I hope to start very soon.
5. The Wilds by Julia Elliott. Releases October 14th. I’ve heard great things about this quirky short story collection. I’m always on the lookout for brilliant short stories, so I’m hoping this will fit the bill.
6. Sublime by Christina Lauren. Releases on October 14. I snagged a copy of the ARC at Comic Con, and I’m super excited to read this ghost story. And it’s one of my favorite covers this year!
7. Into Darkness by J.T. Geissinger. Releases on October 21. This is the sixth and last book in an amazing series, and I’m going to be sad when I turn that last page!
8. Black Dog by Caitlin Kittredge. Releases on October 28. This is the first in a new urban fantasy series, and I’m excited to have an eARC to read next month!
9. Revival by Stephen King. Releases November 11. I chose to show the UK cover rather than the US one, because this one is so much better. In any case, new Stephen King, yay!
10. Endsinger by Jay Kristoff. Releases November 25. Last but certainly not least, I am beyond excited to read the last in Jay’s wonderful, bloody and beautiful Japanese steampunk series.
Are you excited about any of these books? I’d love to read your Top Ten list as well!
The Lesser Dead looks great! I’m going to try and get hold of a copy for my Horror October!
I’m dying to get a copy too, good luck to both of us:-)
City of Stairs, yeah! Working on a review for that one. 🙂
I love it so far, if only I had more time to read this week:-(
Trying to get Shotgun Arcana in this month myself. May get pushed to October. The first book was such a treat, wish more people had read it.
Me too, I may push it to October. I agree, I think Six-Gun Tarot was very underrated, and I hope Belcher catches on.
All of these sound great! If they weren’t already on my tbr list, I just added them! 🙂
Fabulous lists! I just came across mention of BLACK DOG the other day and had to add it to my own wish list!
I haven’t actually heard of most of these books. The only one I know is Endsinger, and I’m DEFINITELY excited for that one! I read Stormdancer just a month or so ago and COMPLETELY fell in love. I bought Kinslayer but haven’t read it yet. Might do it right before Endsinger comes out so I can move from one to the other without having to wait!
And I must admit, I do like that Sublime cover as well! That ghostly girl just looks epic!
Oh good, another Stormdancer fan! I’m amazed at the people who somehow haven’t heard of these books:-)
Revival was on my list too! That Lesser Dead book looks good, I’m going to go check it out on Goodreads.
Check out my Top 10
What gorgeous fall covers! I hope to sneak in a read of Sublime this fall as well. City of Stairs sounds epic, wow! Happy fall reading, Tammy 🙂
Cat Winters book failed to make it onto my list and I have zero clue why. Fail. Super excited for that one and really hope to get to it soon. Revival did make it onto my list though. Mr. Mercedes wasn’t quite as impressive as I had hoped so I’m hoping this one is better. It sounds fantastic! I’ve been hearing some good things about City of Stairs, I might have to check that one out. Great picks!
Thanks Bonnie, I haven’t really heard much around the webz about Cat’s new book, which is odd, but I’m very excited about it.
Revival is on my must get list too 🙂
I am so behind with Stephen King these days, I feel like he’s got a new book out every month, LOL!
Yes, Endsinger and the Shotgun Arcana! Debating if I can somehow cram the Buehlman and King books into my fall schedule as well, I’m already up to my eyeballs in books I have to read but those two are so tempting!
Me too, I have way too many books I’m supposed to be reading, and way too many other books I WANT to read. Buehlman will definitely make it in somehow!
I’m amazed that only 3 of these are on my definite will read list. Usually I’m way more in sync with you. Might have to do with I haven’t been perusing catalogs at all the past few months cause i’m so sick and burnt out and having a hard time reading LOL
Sorry you’re having book burnout, Tabitha! It will pass, don’t worry:-)
I am so looking forward to the Lesser Dead! I’m also hoping to finally read City of Stairs as well 🙂 And the new Stephen King book!! 🙂 Great picks!
Thanks Lisa, I’ve heard great things about The Lesser Dead, so I’m chomping at the bit to get a copy!
City of Stairs is really good.
Some of the others look really good too and I love the covers for Shotgun Arcana and Endsinger.
Lynn 😀
I’m glad you liked City of Stairs. I’ve just started it and already I’m hooked:-)
Spooky set of books. In time for Halloween. Like! Hihi! ♥
I’ve never heard of any of these books, but plenty of them book promising! Guess I’ll have to add them to my ever-growing TBR pile. XD

I’ve read The Wilds. It’s… weird. If you can handle the first story, you will like the collection.
Ha ha! I am really intrigued now:-)
Omg Endsinger!!!!! November why so far away?? D:
