Welcome to Over-Booked, my version of the book haul! I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves and The Sunday Post. Go visit their blogs for lots more book haul posts.
I have a small haul for the past two weeks, luckily. One is a book that I requested from NetGalley a month ago, and I was finally approved, and the other was an author request. Both are books I’m really looking forward to:
The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters. Releases in October from Amulet Books. I just loved Cat’s first book, In the Shadow of Blackbirds, and this one looks equally rooted in history, which is this author’s strength. And, cool cover, right?
Color Song by Victoria Strauss. Releases in September from Skyscape. I reviewed Strauss’ first book Passion Blue a couple of years ago, and loved the way she incorporated art history into her story. This book looks like a sequel to the first, although Goodreads doesn’t categorize it that way. But the characters are the same, so I believe the story continues!
Next week is Comic Con International!! Where I anticipate acquiring a fairly good book haul. So expect a recap post two weeks from now:-) What goodies did you get this week? Link me up!
Both books look very enticing! I still need to read Cat Winters’ first book sometime.
So excited for SDCC! Happy reading & enjoy your weekend:)
Only a couple of days…hope to see you there, Lucy!
The Cure For Dreaming looks wonderful!!!!
MY Stacking The Shelves
I know, I just love the cover!
Yay, you got The Cure For Dreaming! I know you were looking forward to that a lot 🙂 And I know, right, “luckily” a small haul…I’ve been feeling like that lately, with having less time to read this summer.
I’ve been so good with my requests lately. Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to catch up completely, but I’m trying:-)
Nice haul, I love that cover on Color Song 😀
Hope the book is as good as it looks!
My new pretties 🙂
Oooo, Color Song is so pretty! This is the first time I’m seeing it, so thank you for introducing it to me ;D And I keep seeing The Cure for Dreaming around – I have read Winters’ other book, but I’m curious about this one. I think I’ll wait until after publication though. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Tammy! 🙂
Have a fabulous weekend!
Check out my STS post!

OmGG you are going to Comic Con, I can’t wait to hear how it went and your book haul on it! These books both have some beautiful covers, I hope you enjoy them.
I love Cat Winters – her writing is just incredible. Plus, you’re totally right: that cover is phenomenal. You’re going to have such a great time at ComicCon! Just remember to wear comfortable shoes, haha.
I’ve never been to a Comic Con before, I bet it will be loads of fun! I do agree that the cover of Cat Winters’ book is really beautiful. I am sucker for beautiful covers 🙂
Hooray I hope you come home with a huge haul of books!
