Stacking the Shelves (46)

STS

Welcome to Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews! So far I’m doing pretty well with cutting back on review requests. In fact, Harper Teen put some new titles up on Edelweiss this past week, and even though there were “second books” in two series that I read and really enjoyed, I decided NOT to download either one. I feel like I can live without knowing what happens next. I guess I could always go back and change my mind, but I feel like this is progress! I do have a few new books to share, however. I also have a $50 Amazon card from Christmas burning a hole in my pocket, but I can’t decide what to use it on!

For review:

sts small

Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen. Release date: April 1 2014 (Strange Chemistry). I adore this cover, especially the glass rose that the girl is holding. I believe this is a debut fantasy, and it’s being compared to Graceling which is always a good thing!

Starter House by Sonja Condit. I won this from Library Thing, which I’m very excited about. It’s a haunted house/ghost story and looks really good. It just came out this week, but I probably won’t get to read it until next month.

From NetGalley:

Paranoia

Paranoia (The Night Walkers #2) by J.R. Johansson. Release date: June 8 2014 (Flux). I loved the first book, Insomnia, and I’m looking forward to more of Jenn’s twisted storytelling!

That’s it for me this week. What’s on your shelves?

  1. Great books! I got Stolen Songbird too and between the comparisons to Graceling & the fact it has trolls I can’t wait to start it! Well done on cutting back, I’m trying to do the same so I haven’t even looked at Edelweiss or Netgalley since the start of the new year.

Hope you enjoy your new books and happy reading 🙂

  2. You were good to resist temptation on Edelweiss! (me, not so much) Starter House caught my eye. Enjoy your new arrivals!
