Welcome to another Waiting on Wednesday! Thanks to Jill at Breaking the Spine for hosting, as always! This week I stumbled upon a cover reveal of a sequel to a book I loved, and I’m happy to share it with you this week:
Under Nameless Stars by Christian Schoon. Release date: April 1 2014 (Strange Chemistry). Schoon continues his story of Zenn Scarlett and Liam and some very unusual space…animals (for lack of a better word). Here’s the story, courtesy of Goodreads:
Zenn Scarlett’s novice year of exoveterinarian training on Mars isn’t quite going to plan…
After barely surviving a plot to destroy her school and its menagerie of alien patients, could things at the Ciscan cloister get any worse? Yes. Yes they could: Zenn’s absent father Warra Scarlett has suddenly ceased all communication with her. Desperate to learn what’s become of him, Zenn stows away aboard the Helen of Troy, a starliner powered by one of the immense, dimension-jumping beasts known as Indra.
With her is Liam Tucker, a towner boy who is either very fond of her, very dangerous to her, or both. On the verge of learning the truth about her dad, Zenn’s quest suddenly catapults her and Liam thousands of light years beyond known space, and into the dark heart of a monstrous conspiracy. Braving a gauntlet of lethal environments and unearthly life forms, her courage and exovet skills will now be tested as never before.
With the fate of entire worlds hanging in the balance, Zenn is racing headlong into trouble… again.
(Now, I know everyone is up in arms over the recent Goodreads controversy, but yes, I’m still linking up to Goodreads, and no, I haven’t cancelled my account. Perhaps a discussion for another post.)
I do like this cover, especially Zenn’s kick-ass outfit (!), and it looks great alongside the first book of the series, Zenn Scarlett. What are you waiting on this week?
Under Nameless Stars sounds really intense and interesting! Great pick!

Happy to help, Christian! Congrats on the lovely cover:)
I keep hearing great things about these books! And that cover is to die for!
Ugh, how gorgeous is that cover?! I’ll be reading Zenn Scarlett soon, so I’m adding this one to my list, too. 🙂
Heres mine

I haven’t read this series yet but it does sound interesting.
My WoW
Great pick, I can’t wait to get my hands on this and I love the cover!
I couldn’t get through the first one. I think my only DNF this year?
I’m not up in arms about the Goodreads thing. I was hoping you were more of my mindset that a bigger deal is being made of it then should be. I hope you do a post!
I think I will, although I’m sure I’ll get some hate from a post like that. I think Goodreads has a point: NO ONE should be attacking ANYONE, and some bloggers/readers go out of their way to make authors look bad (and feel bad too, I’m sure). I just don’t see the point. I don’t use shelves on Goodreads, so that part doesn’t affect me. But labeling a shelf as “Authors Behaving Badly” is just rude. Where’s the “Bloggers Behaving Badly” shelf??
LOL Here here to that! Bloggers behaving badly! HAHA
By the way – you’re the only other person that has a like mind with me on this topic…except for authors of course. see we’re soul mates.
