Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and every week they have a new and exciting Top Ten list! This week’s topic is pretty easy for me, since there are so many books I still haven’t been able to read, and many of them are series. Here are my Top Ten series that I need to start reading ASAP:
The Vampire Empire series by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith. These books are on my 2013 Catch Up Reading Challenge, so I hope to read all of them by the end of the year. I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about this series.
The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. Oh boy. I only discovered these books a few months ago, and I’m salivating to start reading them. The sixth book in the series comes out this summer. Sixth!! As in I’m five books behind. That totally sucks. Kevin’s books are not only humorous fantasy, but feature Irish wolfhounds. Dogs! I love dogs.
The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. I know! Everyone’s read these books and started on her next series. I’m way behind! But if word of mouth is correct, these books are must-reads.
The Divergent series by Veronica Roth. Here’s another series that everyone’s read but me! I know the third book comes out later this year, so I may have a chance of catching up before then.
Across the Universe series by Beth Revis. I actually own Across the Universe with the original (and in my opinion better) cover, but it’s been in a pile for a couple of years. Must start this series soon!
The Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Again, I’ve read great reviews for these books, and I’m anxious to get started. When you see a book on Goodreads with over 10,000 ratings, and the average comes out to be about 4.8 stars, you know it’s a series you want to read:)
The Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. This is another one of those series that if you look on Goodreads you’ll see an almost perfect five-star average, even with over 100,000 ratings. That’s crazy! And it means I need to read these books!
The Anna series by Kendare Blake. I’m not sure whether or not there’s a third book in the works, but these first two have received many rave reviews from my blogger friends. I love horror, as you might know! So it’s a mystery why I haven’t read these yet.
The Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine. I know! Here’s another really popular vampire series that I somehow missed. The fact that there are at least thirteen books in the series (that I know of) means it might be a while before I read them all.
The Delirium series by Lauren Oliver. And last but not least, a series that I actually own (except for Requiem, which comes out today). I’ve had a copy of Delirium since it was released, and it has the original cover, but I never got around to reading it. Even though I’ve read mixed reviews of Requiem, I still want to read all three books.
How about you? Have you read any of these series (I’ll bet you have)?
The Iron Fey is my favorite YA series. I just backed the kickstarter campaign to make it into a comic book.
So many of those are on my list, too. And some I forgot about, but I do need to read them, like Across the Universe! I just knocked out the Vampire Academy series recently and liked it (but I always warn people the first couple of books are kind of… meh.)
I highly recommend Divergent, but I still haven’t read the second book.
Great picks. I hope you can get to some of them soon!

I spy someone else who hasn’t read the Iron Fey series! I always feel like everyone else has read it so it’s kind of nice to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t read it.
The Divergent series is AWESOME. The characters are great and the plot is thrilling. Definitely read-in-one-sitting material. Also, I can’t remember being so impressed by a book as I was by Delirium (I just finished reading it this morning, actually). The world building (complete with invented reference books and bibles!), the tension, the emotions, the characters, the intense inner struggle of the MC, are all so amazing. On top of that? Each sentence is so obviously well crafted with wonderful descriptions…[deep sigh] Loved it.
We’ve got some matching books on our lists!

Great choices, Tammy! I’ve read the Divergent series but I was on such a Hunger Games hangover at the time that I don’t think I appreciated them as much as I would now.
I’m very intrigued by both the Anna and Delirium series. I keep hearing great things! Series are always tough because its such a commitment, especially if there are a lot of books in them. I’m trying really hard to stick to stand-alones until I have some quality time to dive right in!
I haven’t read Divergent yet. 🙂 I did read Anna Dressed in Blood, though, and I LOVED it! I only read book 1 of the Morganville Vampires, but I really enjoyed it, and I’ve been keeping my eye out for more of those books!
I’ve only read Divergent and Vampire Academy series and they’re amazing. You’ll love them, too. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tammy!

I tried to read the first novel in the Morganville vampire series and I couldn’t stand it. I thought it was SO annoying. I’m hoping to start again with that series. We will see. I hope you like it better than I did. And you must read the Across the Universe series (I have only read the first one, so I don’t know why I’m preaching).
Happy Reading
Vampire Academy is great! I really want to read Anna Dressed in Blood too.
He-ey, we share several picks! So glad I’m not alone. 🙂
