Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, and is a fun way to share the books you’ve received over the past week with other readers. A couple of weeks ago I requested a bunch of HarperTeen titles, and they were finally approved this week. I’m pretty excited about them, since many were Waiting on Wednesday choices! Here’s what I got this week (click on the cover images to go to Goodreads):
For Review:
Arclight by Josin L. McQuein. Release date: April 23 2013 (Greenwillow Books). This cover is already in my top ten favorite covers for 2013, and we’re barely getting started! I’m a sucker for color, and this cover delivers. Oh, and the futuristic thriller story sounds great, too!
Reboot by Amy Tintera. Release date: May 7 2013 (HarperTeen). Here’s another science fiction title that sounds awesome, and I’m getting a Robocop vibe from it.
Towering by Alex Flinn. Release date: May 14 2013 (HarperTeen). This retelling of Rapunzel looks pretty good. I really enjoyed Flinn’s book Beastly, and I hate to admit it, but I quite liked the movie as well.
Transparent by Natalie Whipple. Release date: May 21 2013 (HarperTeen). Here’s another stunning cover! A story about an invisible girl—I’m dying to see how she’s going to pull off that concept.
Born of Illusion by Teri Brown. Release date: June 11 2013 (Balzer + Bray). Magicians and mediums! I love the sound of this story set in 1920s New York City.
Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn. Release date: June 11 2013 (Harper Teen). Not only does Kate have the coolest author name I’ve ever heard, but her book sounds fantastic too! Stephen King meets Pretty Little Liars?? Seriously?? Wow.
The Registry by Shannon Stoker. Release date: June 11 2013 (William Morrow Paperbacks). This dystopian takes place in a future America, where girls are raised to be sold as brides to the highest bidder. Yikes!!
In the After by Demitria Lunetta. Release date: June 25 2013 (HarperTeen). This story sounds incredibly scary. Just click on the cover above and read the Goodreads description for yourself:)
What Makes You Die by Tom Piccirilli. Release date: March 26 2013 (Apex Book Company). Tom Piccirilli has been around a long time, and I’m pretty sure I’ve read some of his older books. I’m so happy that Lesley Connor contacted me about reviewing his latest. Hollywood and hallucinations…what a combo!
Big thanks to Harper Teen, William Morrow, Greenwillow Books, Apex Book Company and Balzer & Bray for these titles!
For Blog Tour:
Dead Light by Mike Pace. Release date: April 4 2013 (Sapphire Star Publishing). Thanks to Devyn Jensen for asking me to participate in the blog tour for this creepy sounding book! My tour date is May 1st.
Purchased:
A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan. I’ve heard lots of buzz about this book, and it’s filled with beautiful scientific drawings of dragons.
The Dinner by Herman Koch. The Wall Street Journal describes this as “a European Gone Girl.” I haven’t read Gone Girl yet, but I’m dying to. You can tell by the cover that bad things are going to happen…
That’s it for me… What did you stack your shelves with this week?
Don’t forget to check out my current giveaways:

Wow, I’ve never been told I have a cool name before – that’s kind of awesome! Hope you like ANOTHER LITTLE PIECE! 🙂
Really??? I absolutely love alliteration, you’re so lucky to have a name with three “K” sounds:)
