It’s Saturday, and time for Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. Time to share the books I received this week, from various sources. I got some fantastic books!
For Review:
The Dead of Winter by Lee Collins. Release date: October 30 2012 (Angry Robot). I’m super excited to have received an ARC this week from Angry Robot. The tag line on this book is “True Grit Meets True Blood”! Wow. This looks like a paranormal Western, a genre I’m growing to love. Look for my review, and possibly a giveaway, in October.
Ghost Planet by Sharon Lynn Fisher. Release date: October 30 2012 (Tor Science Fiction). Right after I highlighted Ghost Planet as my “Waiting on Wednesday,” I headed over to NetGalley to see if it was available. It was, and I was approved the same day. Thank you so much to Leah from Tor for asking me to be part of Sharon’s blog tour in November. And I’ll be hosting a giveaway of the book as well!
Purchased:
Origin by Jessica Khoury. I’ve been waiting for this book for months, and it’s finally out. I’m going to try to squeeze this into my October schedule, since September is pretty busy.
The City’s Son by Tom Pollock. This is an urban fantasy that takes place in London, one of my favorite locations. There have been lots of books written about alternate London universes, but this one has some great reviews from some bloggers that I really trust. Can’t wait to read it!
Vampire Empire Book Three: The Kingmakers by Clay Griffith & Susan Griffith. This is one of those Holy Grail series for me. I am so excited to read these books, but I just haven’t been able to fit them in. By the end of 2012, I vow to read all three books!
In A Fix by Linda Grimes. The story line of this book reminds me of Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse, a TV show that was unfortunately cancelled after only two seasons. That alone makes me curious. And the girl on the cover reminds me of Lindsey Lohan, and I really like her, even though she’s always in trouble.
What did you get this week? I’d love to hear!
OH. That Ghost Planet cover looks AWESOME!!!! You’ve got some good reads here. ENJOY!
All your books look pretty awesome! And that’s so cool that you’ll be on the Ghost Planet tour. Glad you picked up Origin- hope it’s great!
I loved in a Fix and bought it as well. You had some interesting books and I’m curious to know more about them. Happy reading!
here is mine
Nice haul! I have In A Fix on my wishlist because it sounds like a great read and I keep seeing it all over the place lately. And Ghost Planet sounds great too. Happy reading!
Here are my books.
I hope you love Origin! I’m currently reading it! I’m only like halfway through but I’m loving it so far. The overall plot is kind of cliche, but there are a lot of unique elements on top of it. And cliche plots don’t bother me at all so that’s good! It has a basic scientists vs “natives” plot that a lot of people don’t like. But then it has so many unique and crazy things on top of that.
I hope you love it!!
