Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers.
This cover and title were just revealed, and I’ve no doubt that this will be a popular WoW pick this week! But seriously, look at the GLORIOUSness that is this cover:
After a harrowing journey across the country, Leah Westfall and her friends have finally arrived in California and are ready to make their fortunes in the Gold Rush. Lee has a special advantage over the other new arrivals in California—she has the ability to sense gold, a secret known only by her handsome best friend Jefferson and her murdering uncle Hiram.
Lee and her friends have the chance to be the most prosperous settlers in California, but Hiram hasn’t given up trying to control Lee and her power. Sabotage and kidnapping are the least of what he’ll do to make sure Lee is his own. His mine is the deepest and darkest in the territory, and there Lee learns the full extent of her magical gift, the worst of her uncle, and the true strength of her friendships. To save everyone, she vows to destroy her uncle and the empire he is building—even at the cost of her own freedom.
Like a River Glorious (The Gold Seer Trilogy #2) by Rae Carson. Releases in September 2017 from Greenwillow Books. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series, Walk on Earth a Stranger, and I’m curious to see what’s going to happen next.
Are you reading this series? I’d love to know what you’re waiting on this week:-)
I haven’t read the first one yet, but hear good things. I have an ARC from BEA but just didn’t have time to get to it. The covers on these books are gorgeous. I hope you enjoy it when you get it. Have a great week! My WOW

I know, the covers are beautiful! Plus I have a thing for blue covers, for some reason, so this one is especially gorgeous for me:-)
Mogsy picked that one at Bibliosanctum, too! It’s absolutely beautiful. 😀 I may just have to move the first book higher on my TBR pile now, just because.

I saw that! We’re having a mind meld this week, I guess;-) I think you’d love this series, Sara. The fantasy aspects are very subtle, it’s almost more of a YA historical than fantasy, but a terrific story.
I’m not reading this series, but I am considering buying the books now though, so I can collect the covers XD
Ha ha yes, the covers are worth collecting:-)
Having seen this twice in a day, I guess I can’t ignore the subliminal message… 😀

Yes, you MUST read them, LOL!
That is a great cover- I love the stream and the sky. Very nice. Hope it’s as good as it looks like it will be. The premise does sound interesting.

I haven’t been reading this series but I think I should add them to my wishlist (because one more can’t really do any harm after all!
Lovely cover!
Lynn 😀
We’re WoW twins, yay! Hard to believe, but the second cover is even more gorgeous than the first. 🙂

I think it was just revealed, gorgeous, right?
I knew exactly what series this was from the little pic on your front page. I love it when covers link together so well. It makes me really want to start this series as this one looks and sounds better than the last. Thanks for sharing. Your site is becoming a serious danger to my TBR!

I didn’t absolutely love Walk on Earth a Stranger, but I liked it enough to want to continue with the series. I really liked Carson’s debut trilogy though. 😀 THESE COVERS. The covers alone are enough to make a person want to read the series (both of Carson’s series!). 😉
I hope you enjoy this one when you get the chance to read it, Tammy!
