Tammy’s Top Ten Summer 2015 Release Books

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where each week we are given a Top Ten theme to blog about. This week it’s our top ten summer TBR books. This list is completely different from last week’s Top Ten Books for the Rest of 2015, and I’m only listing books that will be released during the months of June, July and August this year. (Correction: I just realized I don’t have any June books on this list, so these are all July and August releases.) You guys!! July and August are such awesome months for SFF books this year! I’m excited that I also have review copies for all of these, except for a couple, which I’m working on getting. These are listed in order of release date, and you can click on the titles to go to the Goodreads descriptions:

The Unnoticeables by Robert Brockway. Releases July 7 from Tor Books. I was just offered a copy of this from the author’s literary agency, and I’m very excited to get my hands on it. Plus, green cover!

Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) by Rachel Caine. Releases July 7th from New American Library. This was in my first Ace Roc Stars package, and it’s on my plate to read this month. I’ve heard nothing but great things about it:-D

Splintered (Arcane Underworld #2) by Jamie Schultz. Releases July 7 from Roc. I love when I can get in on a series from the beginning, and I can’t wait to dive back into Jamie’s urban fantasy world.

Time Salvager by Wesley Chu. Releases July 7 from Tor Books. If you read this blog, then you know I’m a huge fan of Wesley’s Tao series. I can’t wait to see how he tackles time travel:-D Even better, I just found out he’s going to be signing copies of the book at Comic Con in a few weeks!

Armada by Ernest Cline. Releases July 14 from Crown. It’s no secret that I’m one of Cline’s biggest fans. This one is coming up very soon on the TBR pile, I just don’t think I can wait much longer:-)

Last First Snow (Craft Sequence #4) by Max Gladstone. Releases July 14 from Tor Books. I’ve loved every single book in Max’s series, and I’m quite certain this one will be just as lovable!

Zero World by Jason M. Hough. Releases August 11 from Del Rey. First of all, I LOVE this cover, and I expect the story inside to be just as fantastic.

Zeroes (Zeroes #1) by Chuck Wendig. Releases August 18 from Harper Voyager. Not to be confused with Zero World (or that other Zeroes book that’s coming out, LOL!), Chuck’s latest looks like a bunch of fun. Plus, it’s Chuck Wendig, duh.

Nightwise by R.S. Belcher. Releases August 18 from Tor Books. I’m a big fan of Belcher’s Golgotha series, and it looks like this is the start of new series.

Speak Easy by Catherynne M. Valente. Releases August 31 from Subterranean Press. I pre-ordered a copy of this from the publisher, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Not just because Subterranean Press produces lovely books, but because it’s a Catherynne M. Valente book! (Or I guess it’s technically a novella.)

What summer books are you excited to read?

The Craft Sequence can really be read in any order. Each one is a new story with new characters. That’s what I love about it.

  1. This could have almost been my list! Splintered and Time Salvager are books I’m actually reading at the moment, I recently got Last First Snow (still haven’t read Full Fathom Five yet though, doh!) and Ink and Bone is supposedly on its way. Looks like we’ll be reading Zeroes and Zero World together this summer! 🙂

I know what you mean, I’ve got so many books to read over the summer, not sure how I’m read them all:-)

  2. I can’t wait for Ink and Bone! I really enjoy The Morganville Vampire series, even though I still haven’t read the last two… or maybe three books. I hope this’ll be a shorter series because I felt like TMV was kind of stretched out at some parts and repetitive too.

  3. I kind of cheated this week because to be honest I had quite a few reads that I’ll be picking up for Summer on last week’s list (books I’m looking forward to for the rest of 2015).
So, yeah, Chu and Cline were on my list too last week – excited to pick them both up. I think I’ve been looking forward to them for so long – I hope I’ve not set them up too high now!
