Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that we’re excited about with other bloggers and readers. FINALLY this cover has been revealed! I’ve been waiting for quite some time to feature this book until it had a cover, and now it does:
Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff. Releases in October from Knopf Books for Young Readers. If you read this blog, then you know I’m a huge fan of Jay’s, and when I heard he was collaborating on a book with Amie Kaufman, well, it was pretty exciting news:-D Here’s the Goodreads description:
This morning, Kady thought breaking up with Ezra was the hardest thing she’d have to do.
This afternoon, her planet was invaded.
The year is 2575, and two rival megacorporations are at war over a planet that’s little more than an ice-covered speck at the edge of the universe. Too bad nobody thought to warn the people living on it. With enemy fire raining down on them, Kady and Ezra—who are barely even talking to each other—are forced to fight their way onto an evacuating fleet, with an enemy warship in hot pursuit.
But their problems are just getting started. A deadly plague has broken out and is mutating, with terrifying results; the fleet’s AI, which should be protecting them, may actually be their enemy; and nobody in charge will say what’s really going on. As Kady hacks into a tangled web of data to find the truth, it’s clear only one person can help her bring it all to light: the ex-boyfriend she swore she’d never speak to again.
Told through a fascinating dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more—Illuminae is the first book in a heart-stopping, high-octane trilogy about lives interrupted, the price of truth, and the courage of everyday heroes.
The official cover reveal at Cuddlebuggery also includes an interview with the authors, as well as a giveaway, and you can check that out here. This is going to be one beautiful book, with a special dust jacket (click on that link to read more about the cover too!) Just looking at the cover is making me happy:-D
Let me know what you’re waiting on this week!
This book has been so popular this week! 🙂
My Waiting on Wednesday
Yeah, I figured it would;-)
WANT. I haven’t read anything by Amie Kaufman, but Jay Kristoff’s name attached to this caught my interest when I saw him tweet about this book last year. I’m not feeling the cover though, the interesting process of how it was put together notwithstanding. I’m sure the see-through windows and multiple layers will look much cooler in person though 🙂

It’s very hard to convey multi-level covers on the internet, LOL! I personally love the cover, I think it’s the colors that I love.
I haven’t yet read anything by Jay or Amie however they are on my TBR. This book? Sounds amazing. It’s also on my TBR. lol
Sounds like it’ll be a great book! Check out my WoW!
