Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that we’re excited about. Today I’m over the moon to share with you the next book in J.D. Horn’s Witching Savannah series. I loved his first book, The Line, and luckily the release date of The Source isn’t that far away:
The Source (Witching Savannah #2) by J.D. Horn. Release date: June 3 2014 (47North). J.D.’s series takes place in, you guessed it, Savannah, Georgia, and involves witches and all things Southern. I can’t wait to read it, and I’m also really loving the cover. Here’s the story description from Goodreads:
Graceful trees and historic buildings fill Savannah, Georgia, but beneath the city’s Southern splendor, its supernatural roots run deep. The members of local witch families grace the society pages…when they’re not secretly protecting their magical work from dark forces.
Savannah resident Mercy Taylor may now be in control of the South’s most powerful family of witches, but she’s struggling to master her newfound magic. Pregnant with her first child and still reeling from a heartbreaking betrayal, she just wants to be able to use her supernatural abilities without accidentally destroying dishes or blasting the doors off buildings.
But when Mercy’s long-presumed-dead mother suddenly returns, begging Mercy to keep her presence under wraps, the witch wonders how many secrets her family is hiding…and who she can really trust. And when the danger around her intensifies to deadly levels, Mercy knows she must discover the truth behind her family’s magic—before it destroys her.
The second book in J.D. Horn’s Witching Savannah series, The Source casts a thrilling spell.
Have you started this series yet? If you love your paranormal fiction witchy, you’ll love J.D.’s books:-) Let me know what you’re waiting on!
I do enjoy a good witch story. Always hoping for the next Granny Weatherwax.
Ha ha! There might actually be a witch sort of like her in this series…
I REALLY like the cover of The Line, and The Source is a great follow-up! I’m not familiar with these books D: But I hope you read and enjoy The Source when you read it!
Check out my WoW post!
Thanks for stopping by, Alyssa! I love these covers too:-)
I love both of those covers, and I really like how well they work with each other. I enjoy when they are all done in the same style.
Great Pick!

Yes, I hope they keep these covers and don’t redesign them, which is happening with so many series:-( *dislike*
I have not read this series. It does sound interesting. I like the cover for it.
It is a really good cover:-)
Dammit dammit dammit. You just reminded me The Line was a Kindle Daily Deal the other day and I made a note to get it by the end of the day, but it must have completely slipped my mind because I’m just remembering it now! I guess I’ll just wait til this is out to grab both 😛
Oh rats! I just picked up THE SOURCE on NetGalley, so at least you could get that one for free:-)
I will be getting The Line asap! I just read the summary and I am SOLD! Definitely sounds like some I’d be interested in! I love the covers too!
You always introduce and recommend some really awesome books. The Museum of Extraordinary Things and Stolen Songbird to name a few.
