I can’t believe it, but as of today I’ve been blogging for TWO YEARS! I have to say the time flew by. It feels like only yesterday that I hesitantly started this blog, with absolutely no idea of what I was doing, LOL! I’ve learned a lot (and I’m still learning!), I’ve made some wonderful blogger friends, and I’ve connected with authors and publishers and publicists in ways I never thought possible. I love being part of the blogger community, but most of all, I love books. That is what keeps me going: the excitement of finding new authors to love, trying new genres, and rediscovering old favorites.
To celebrate, I have THREE INTERNATIONAL giveaways for you to enter! The first one starts today, and I’ll post the next two over the next two days. Hopefully I have something for everyone! Here are the giveaways:

I’ll have a separate Rafflecopter for each giveaway, and you’re welcome to enter all three if you like. You can also grab my Blogoversary Button (below) and add it to your sidebar for extra entries:

For today’s giveaway, I’m thrilled to offer up two books from one of my favorite publishers, Angry Robot/Strange Chemistry (Strange Chemistry is the young adult imprint of Angry Robot). I adored both these books! They are both Book #1 in a series, so you won’t be lost. You may love them so much you’ll be anxiously awaiting Book #2 as much as I am! One international winner will receive paperback copies of both books. You may enter as long as The Book Depository ships to your country (check here first, please!)
The Blue Blazes by Chuck Wendig. This adult urban fantasy blew me away! This is my very favorite book of the year so far. You can read my review here. Wendig’s world is a gritty, marvelous wonder full of drugs, flawed characters, and gorgeous writing. Here’s the story from Goodreads:
Meet Mookie Pearl.
Criminal underworld? He runs it.
Supernatural underworld? He hunts in it.
Nothing stops Mookie when he’s on the job.
But when his daughter takes up arms and opposes him, something’s gotta give…
The Blue Blazes – the first in a new urban fantasy series in which lovable thug Mookie Pearl must contend with the criminal underworld, the supernatural underworld, a new drug that makes the invisible visible, and a rebellious teen daughter who opposes him at every turn.
Zenn Scarlett by Christian Schoon. This young adult title from Strange Chemistry was one of the most original stories I’ve ever read. The author’s love of animals led him to create a story with all sorts of fascinating alien creatures. You can read my review here. I’m glad this isn’t the end of the story, because it does end on a cliff hanger! No word yet on when Book #2 comes out, but I hope it’s soon…Here’s the description from Goodreads:
Zenn Scarlett is a resourceful, determined 17-year-old girl working hard to make it through her novice year of exovet training. That means she’s learning to care for alien creatures that are mostly large, generally dangerous and profoundly fascinating. Zenn’s all-important end-of-term tests at the Ciscan Cloister Exovet Clinic on Mars are coming up, and, she’s feeling confident of acing the exams. But when a series of inexplicable animal escapes and other disturbing events hit the school, Zenn finds herself being blamed for the problems. As if this isn’t enough to deal with, her absent father has abruptly stopped communicating with her; Liam Tucker, a local towner boy, is acting unusually, annoyingly friendly; and, strangest of all: Zenn is worried she’s started sharing the thoughts of the creatures around her. Which is impossible, of course. Nonetheless, she can’t deny what she’s feeling.
Now, with the help of Liam and Hamish, an eight-foot sentient insectoid also training at the clinic, Zenn must learn what’s happened to her father, solve the mystery of who, if anyone, is sabotaging the cloister, and determine if she’s actually sensing the consciousness of her alien patients… or just losing her mind. All without failing her novice year…
