Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer.
I’m happy to report that I’ve fixed my image gallery issue, which has been going on for months. I finally sought some help and was given a CSS styling code to center my galleries again. It might sound like a small thing but I’m ecstatic about it:-)
And thanks to my talented hubby, I have an excellent photo of the Steller’s Jay babies and parents in the nest on my patio! There are four babies, and they are super cute:

Our weather turned cool all of a sudden, although it probably won’t last. But while it does, all the windows are open and the air conditioner is (thankfully) off. Have a great week, everyone!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
The end of June is creeping up, and I’m trying to squeeze in a few more reviews this month. This week look for reviews of You’ve Awoken Her, a really good YA cosmic horror story, and The House on Utopia Way, a mind-bending but surprisingly grounded detective story. And yes, The Palace of Illusions is NEXT. After that, I hope to start An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating, which I thought was an August release but actually comes out this week. Oops.
Other posts this week:
I’m joining Top Ten Tuesday with a favorite topic, Most Anticipated Books for the Second Half of 2025; I spotted some great cover reveals this past week, so stop by Future Fiction on Wednesday to check them out; Friday I’m hoping to continue my Rainbow of Horror cover love and feature more horror books in a specific color (to be determined!) And Saturday I’ll share my June book haul. Yes, I’m back to monthly book hauls:-)
Summer of Horror updates:

I’m adding this section to highlight bloggers who are joining me in my Summer of Horror event! And I do want to mention that I don’t get pingback notifications, for some reason, so I might not see you post, even if you tag me. So please leave a comment below if you’ve posted a Summer of Horror review or list or meme, and I will visit your blog and include you in the next line-up!
Check out Dark Shelf of Wonders where Veros joins in with Summer of Horror Cover Friday: Category is…Queer Horror!

That picture is so adorable, hope you’ll be able to get more as the babies grow.
I’m hoping it will get cooler here soon too, so fed up of the heat now.
I like the look of An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating, it look very cost 😀
Thank you! We definitely need to take more photos of the babies before they leave the nest:-)
Ahh, that picture of the jays is great!
I love the cover of You’ve Awoken Her. It immediately makes me think it might be something my wife would enjoy, ahaha. For me though I’m curious about The House on Utopia Way.
Thank you! It seems like your wife is a horror fan, am I right? 😉
Hoorah for finding a solution for the coding issue (though tbh I can’t say I noticed there was a problem lol). And nice shot of the birds…it’s so calming to watch them.
I do love the bird photo, it makes me happy that they found a safe spot on our property:-)
The baby birds are so cute, Tammy! We’re having hot weather in Belgium, too hot than we’re used to here. I hope it cools down here too.
Thanks Stephanie:-) Fingers crossed for your weather cooling down!
These baby birds are so cute Tammy! And enjoy the cooler weather. We currently have a heatwave in Belgium as Stephanie mentioned above!
I hope your heatwave doesn’t last too long!
You’ve Awoken Her does sound so good! And oh, the baby birds are adorable! What a great photo, of course your husband was able to get that. I still have some issues with getting my galleries the way I want them even with using the things on WordPress, but I’m too lazy to figure out much more as long as it looks close for now. Hope you have a good week, and send that cooler weather my way! lol
Thanks Lisa! I hope it isn’t too hot for you this week.
What a lovely picture of the birds. All those books look good. Enjoy!
Have a great week!

Thank you! I hope you have a great week too:-)
Thank you
No no June can’t end I have more books to read. Also July and August are an oven here, although this week is going there anyway. Love the birds photo. It’s so satisfying to solve an issue that’s been bugging you.
Anne – Books of My Heart
I know what you mean, Anne, I still have a bunch of June releases too.
That’s an amazing photo! Wishing you a great week!
Thanks Lisa! You too.
Hmm, never noticed there was an issue with your banner, but am glad you are happy with it.
Wow, this jay family is so so cute.
I hope they are safe where they are. Last year, I was filming and taking pictures and monitoriing a couple of cardinals raising their little one, just in front of our window, in a bush. It was just a few days before fledgling. Then one Saturday morning I heard a crazy raucous noise. I ran to the window: a squirrel had come and eaten the baby! We were depressed the whole day!!
Thanks Emma! I know that squirrels will eat baby birds, so we’ve been doing our best to keep them away until the birds fly away. Plus our dog barks and chases squirrels, so he’s been a big help too:-)
Enjoy your books this week.

Stellar jays are such pretty birds! I also had An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating down as an August release – the date must have gotten moved up!
Yes, I think it did change, I rarely go back and look at dates but for some reason I doubled checked this one!
That bird family is adorable – what a wonderful pic:). And I’m glad it’s a bit cooler for you. I hope the coming week is a good one, Tammy.
Thank you, I hope you have a wonderful week as well:-)
Awww! Those birds look so cute! Hope you have a great week!
Such a cool pick of the birds!
I was wondering why I hadn’t heard of You’ve Awoken Her and then realized it was YA, which I’ve been out of the loop for a while, lol. Cover and cosmic horror premise are awesome though!
What a fantastic picture – and, I didn’t know squirrels ate baby birds – the horror!
Have a lovely week.
Lynn 😀
