It’s time for the Rainbow of Horror, and today I’m sharing horror books with yellow covers. This was actually a tough color, did you know that yellow isn’t very popular for book covers? Especially horror, for some reason. Some of these feature yellow title font instead of being all over yellow, but I think they look nice together!
And shout-out to A Game In Yellow, One Yellow Eye and The Yellow Wallpaper for also having “yellow” in the title:-)
These are listed in no particular order, and I’m linking my reviews for the ones I’ve read.
Victorian Psycho by Virginia Fieto
Mongrels by Stephen Graham Jones
The Brotherhood of the Wheel by R.S. Belcher
A Game in Yellow by Hailey Piper
Nowhere Burning by Catriona Ward
A Sunny Place For Shady People by Mariana Enriquez
One Yellow Eye by Leigh Radford
The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey

It’s interesting that yellow isn’t that popular for horror. I wonder if it’s because it’s quite a summery colour maybe? You’ve still found a good selection though. The only other one I can think of is The Girl With All The Gifts by M. R. Carey, I think that had a yellow cover too, but it’s maybe more post apocalyptic than horror š
Thank you for mentioning The Girl With All the Gifts, I had forgotten about that one! And I’ve now added it:-)
Mongrels and Victorian Psycho were great!
I agree, I loved both!
I really like yellow covers, it’s a bummer there aren’t many of them and these look great !
I want to read The Yellow Wallpaper and I’m am also interested in Scales!
I also want to read The Yellow Wallpaper, it is a classic after all:-)
Yellow is such an underrated color for book covers. I quite like the color!!
I like it too, especially when you put a bunch together:-)
I wouldn’t have expected yellow for horror covers but…it works Tammy!
I was surprised too!
I like all the yellow – it’s both very cheery and somehow works for the horror theme!
Ha ha you are right!
I like this! I think, like others said, yellow is unusual for horror because it is a “cheery” color, but I think that juxtaposition is why it works so well! It is even more unsettling because it is cheery, but you know the content is not.
This post shows yellow shades are a great choice to help your book stand out on a shelf!
I adored Victorian Psycho and need to make time for Scales. Not a huge fan of yellow – wearing it makes me look like a zombie. I do love it on books though.
That’s a great selection. I’ve read four of these which I’m quite pleased about as horror isn’t always my first choice. A forthcoming read with a yellow cover is Another Fine Mess – which I only recall now because I did a Friday Face Off very recently.

I’m catching up with some of your posts and I’m loving these rainbow of horror posts, they’re so fun! I’m really drawn to the cover for A Game in Yellow because it’s just so weird and unnerving. I also am partial to the cover for Mongrels, it’s such a good one.
Even if it isn’t a really popular colour, you find a lot of covers with it! And the ensemble is really nice to look at!!
Omg I forgot to put The Girl With All The Gifts on my TBR too (or possibly I put it on my maybe one as I was aware that I had lots to get to already).
I’m not surprised that yellow was harder to do. I have so few yellow books on my shelves. These do all look stunning together though and I’ve found another premise to look into.
