Buffy’s Corner 2/16/25 – Looking at the Week Ahead

Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D

This was a cold, rainy week. We got about six inches of rain on Thursday, it was crazy! I’m excited that Monday is a holiday, and I fully intend to read as much as possible:-) Below is a new photo of Badger, outside in his element. Have a great week, everyone!

Upcoming reads & reviews:

I’m hoping I can post three reviews this week, we’ll se how that goes! Tomorrow look for my review of Victorian Psycho (probably the best example of a WTF book I’ve ever read, lol). I’m currently reading The Third Rule of Time Travel and so far so good! Up next, I’m hoping to polish off a few more February releases, Future’s Edge and The Fourth Consort.

Other posts the week:

I could barely keep up with the cover reveals this past week, so it was hard to choose just three books for Future Fiction. Stop by on Wednesday and see what I’m highlighting! Saturday is the last Saturday of the month, believe it or not, so I’ll share my February book haul.

In case you missed:

My posts from last week:

Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett – Review 4.5/5 stars

Future Fiction #318

Top Ten Tuesday – Books With the Word “Heart” in the Title

The Bones Beneath My Skin by T.J. Klune – Review 4.5/5 stars

Buffy’s Corner 2/9/25

Hope to see you around the blogosphere:-D

  1. Alma Katsu is one I really want to try to read! That is a lot of rain you guys got, we are still getting snow and freezing temps here. I did see on the news about flooding in California because of the weather I think. Enjoy your holiday tomorrow! We had to put tomorrow back to a school day because of all the snow days we had, so I can’t complain about it. Especially with possibly more snow and frigid temps this week making it into more snow days possible. Have a great week!

California isn’t really set up for lots of rain, so we do often have flashflood warnings when it rains. I know you have to work today, hope it isn’t too bad!

  2. I feel you on the rain. I don’t think we got 6 inches (wow!) but between the snow and now the past 24+ hours of rain…it’s been very wet. Now we’re going to get a cold front & high wind gusts. This winter is keeping us on our toes here in the mid Atlantic!

I feel like everyone is getting a lot of wind and rain these days. I don’t mind snow or rain, but I really hate the wind, lol.

  3. It’s actually raining right now. 🙂 Looking forward to hearing about Future’s Edge and The Fourth Consort. Always love the photos of Badger!

I just started Future’s Edge and I’m hooked so far. Powell is such a good writer, and I think sort of underrated.

  4. Yay Badger! We had strong winds today and some rain. We might get snow Wednesday because this week will be cold around freezing a lot. Today will be about 65. I think everyone has relaxing plans for the holiday tomorrow.

I got all my chores done yesterday so I’m happy to just do whatever I want today, which means mostly reading:-)

  5. Badger is gorgeous!! We are also getting the most snow we’ve seen in years over here!
I’m curious about both Future’s Edge and The Fourth Consort.

  6. Sophie @BewareOfTheReader

On the other hand it’s a good thing that yu got rain right? Or at least I thought California needs rain but I might be mistaken… I am reading Emily Wilde now and listening to …the Skin Beneath Our Bones LOL

  7. Literary Feline

Getting so much rain was nice. I’ve been enjoying seeing the snow on the mountain tops when out walking. It sounds like you have a great day planned for today. Reading is the best way to spend a day off. 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy your reading!

The best part about the snow on the mountain tops is that it didn’t get down to my altitude, lol:-) Have a great week, Wendy!

  8. Barb @ Booker T's Farm

That is a lot of rain. Look at that huge field! Zekey and Apollo would have a blast in it.
