What’s On My Plate – February 2025

January felt like such a long month, so I’m very glad to be moving on. I’ve already read and reviewed two of my February releases (which aren’t listed here), so I’m a little ahead. I’m hoping to read a few March releases this month, because guys, March is INSANE. Ha ha. Anyway, here are the books I hope to read this month:

The Bones Beneath My Skin by T.J. Klune. This will be my first Klune book, and I’m quite excited to see what all the fuss is about!

Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito. This book is getting a bunch of hype. I love the cover, and the story sounds like a very good historical thriller.

I have a couple of science fiction titles this month, starting with Future’s Edge by Gareth L. Powell. I love his books, so I’m expecting to love this as well.

Listen to Your Sister by Neena Viel is being compare to the films of Jordan Peele and Stranger Things. That’s such a tempting comparison, I can’t wait to see if it’s correct!

I’m currently reading But Not Too Bold by Hache Pueyo, and it’s very strange, lol. But it’s short, and I needed to finish something so I can get some reviews up this week.

Grave Empire by Richard Swan. I think I requested this from Orbit but I haven’t received it yet, so I may or may not read this. I’ve heard great things about this author, so I would like to try one of his books.

Emily Wilde’s Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett. I’m so eager to start this! I’ve already seen some good reviews.

The Fourth Consort by Edward Ashton. I still haven’t managed to read anything by Edward Ashton, so I’m excited to finally check out his work!

The Otherwhere Post by Emily J. Taylor. This is a YA fantasy/mystery that sounds really good. And it’s my only YA of the month, so here’s hoping I like it:-)

Are you planning to read any of these books? Which one should I start with?

  1. I hope you enjoy all of these. I loved the Emily Wilde book and really want to check out The Otherworld Post too. I’m looking forward to seeing your thoughts on Victoria Psycho and didn’t realise you hadn’t read anything by Klune yet either. I hope your first experience with their work goes well. I’m hoping I’ll finally get to something by them this year too.

  2. Time for the new Emily Wilde at last 😀 Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it. I’m finally going to get around to reading book 2 soon in preparation for the last one 😀

  3. I’m reading the Emily Wilde book. I’m curious about your March because I have 6 holes yet which is unusual. Of course, I’ve been dumping invites for future months into an email folder so I guess I should go through that this week sometime.

I’m not sure what happened to my March reading pile, but clearly I wasn’t paying attention when I accepted books for review, lol.

  4. March is insane for me too! I’m hoping to get a head start this month — I have 5 ARCs to read for February, but 10 for March. I’m already pulling my hair out! I can’t wait to hear what you think of The Bones Beneath My Skin! And I’m looking forward to reading the new Emily Wilde book too. Either that one, or the new Eowyn Ivey, or Greenteeth will be up next for me! Hope you enjoy all of these!

  5. I’m curious about Richard Swan’s work, too. And I loved Mickey7 by Edward Ashton so I’d love to try The Fourth Consort (and I’m curious to see the movie they made based on Mickey7, strangely titled Mickey 17).

  6. How many interesting books! I have Grave Empire waiting for me and I am pretty excited about that one. But I am really curious about Klune’s book (even more so because it is of a different genre from his other books, if I understand correctly) and Victorian Psycho. This one is not really my usual cup of tea but I am still curious!
I hope you will enjoy them all!
