Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa to everyone who celebrates! My kids are coming for Christmas and I can’t wait. I mentioned last week that we are going to try to make lobster mac n’ cheese, so hopefully I’ll have a report about it next week. I have to work this week, except for Tuesday and Wednesday, but I have all of next week off, yay!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
My reading isn’t going so well, lol. But I decided not to stress over posting reviews this month, so that’s why. I did read Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear, and I’ll post that review next month. It was pretty good! Unfortunately, I decided to jump on the Dungeon Crawler Carl bandwagon, only to decide to DNF it. I know, so many people love this book, but it just wasn’t for me. I’m currently reading another January release, Wake Up and Open Your Eyes, and it’s really good so far. Next, I may try to squeeze in a late ARC, like The Undermining of Twyla and Frank. That might be it for the year!
Other posts this week:
Tomorrow I’m posting short “reviews” of two recent DNFs (see above for one of them). I actually had a lot of fun writing this post! Wednesday I have three new covers to share on Future Fiction; and Saturday will be my last book haul post of 2024! I will probably post some Countdown to 2025 posts as well.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Countdown to 2025 – Day 21: Santa’s Snack
Countdown to 2025 – Day 20: Eggnog
Countdown to 2025 – Day 18: Christmas Cards
Countdown to 2025 – Day 16: Turkey Dinner
The Return by Rachel Harrison – Review 4/5 stars

Happy Solstice season, Tammy. I hope you have a great time with your kids, and enjoy the heck out of your time off.
Thank you Marian, you too!
Two DNF reviews? Wow. I don’t see you posting DNF reviews very often…Glad Adrift was good (I’m buying it as soon as it comes out, obviously :)). Enjoy your holidays! Also, Badger is so shiny! LOL.
(On a side note: I added Happy Hanukkah/Kwanzaa to my end-of-the-year wrap up on account on your adding it above!).
I don’t think I’ve ever posted a DNF review before! But I literally sat down and wrote two reviews in about 20 minutes. It was very freeing! Happy holidays Roberta!
Happy Christmas, hope you enjoy the holiday and your time off
Thank you! I hope you have a lovely holiday as well:-)
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Tammy. I just have to work on the 23rd and the 30th so not too bad, huh?
My reading isn’t going great either, even though I’m enjoying both of my current reads, but this always happens in december for me. Give Badger some pets from me! ^_^
Yes, me too. There are so many distractions, even if the book is good I have a hard time focusing! Have a wonderful Christmas, Stephanie!
Enjoy your Christmas and time with family!
Thanks Stormi, you too!
I’m on hold for the audiobook of Dungeon Crawler Carl on Libby and I’m currently #186 on 4 copies so it’ll probably be awhile before I get my hands on it. Lobster mac n cheese sounds so good! Merry Christmas!
OMG I didn’t realize it was so popular! Merry Christmas, Lauren:-)
Very glad to hear the kids will be home for Christmas. I hope you all have a very merry one! And enjoy what time you have off.
Thank you Todd! I hope your holiday is a good one as well.
Ooh, can’t wait to see your DNF post! I’m planning to do my best to spend about an hour every day over break getting caught up on commenting on other blogs. I’ve got so many of your reviews to read, so hopefully all my commenting doesn’t make my comments go to spam. I try to limit to 3 a day per blog, lol. I hope you have a wonderful holiday this week, and love the picture of Badger!
I always check my spam, so if your comments go there, I’ll get them out. Thanks Lisa, have a wonderful holiday!
Enjoy the holidays with your kids! I do want to hear about the lobster Mac n cheese. I randomly think about it since you mentioned it.
I don’t really have DNFs. The fact that you said you enjoyed writing the post makes me feel like it’s for a reason.
Thanks Carla, you as well. I think writing the DNF reviews was easier for some reason.
Yay Badger – he is getting so big! Have an amazing holiday with your family. Maybe you can get a jump on January during your next week off.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Let’s hope he’s as big as he’s going to get, lol. I hope you have a wonderful holiday as well, and I definitely plan to start on my January TBR:-)
Badger is so cute!! I’m probably going to start Adrift in the next week or two — I’m glad to hear you liked it! Have a great week. Happy holidays!
Happy Holidays, Lisa!
Merry Christmas.
I have Dungeon Crawler Carl on my tbr. That is a cute doggy.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it:-)
Merry Christmas already Tammy! I will be working too.
Merry Christmas Sophie!
Good luck with that lobster mac! I’m sure it’ll turn out great!
I’ll take photos:-) Ha ha.
I hope the upcoming days will be filled with joy with the family, Tammy! Merry Christmas and take care!
Thank you Lashaan! Merry Christmas:-)
Merry Christmas! I hope your lobster Mac n cheese is sheer perfection!
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas with your family!
Sorry to hear Dungeon Crawler Carl wasn’t for you! I’ve heard from non gamers that it is super tedious to get into, so I understand!
So happy to see Badger – he is such a lovely looking dog.
