Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
It’s Halloween week, is anyone doing anything fun? Our town opens up all the shops and restaurants for trick-or-treating, since the mountain roads in the residential area are steep and dangerous to walk at night (no one really does door to door here). We all donate bags of candy to the businesses so everyone has plenty of candy to hand out.
Today I’m sharing a recent photo of Badger at the end of this post. He’s at our local skatepark but sadly does not have a skateboard…
Have a good week, everyone!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
This week is packed, since it’s the end of October and the beginning of November, so I’ll probably only post one review. Look for my thoughts on Run tomorrow! This was a crazy, non-stop thriller with a lot of graphic violence (which I wasn’t expecting). I’m currently reading Grimm Curiosities and I love being back in a Sharon Lynn Fisher book:-) I’d like to read The Hollow and the Haunted, a book that’s getting some good reviews, and then it’s time to blast off with Sci Fi Month, so I’m going to pick up an October release I haven’t read yet, Dark Space.
Other posts this week:
Tuesday is a Halloween Freebie on Top Ten Tuesday, and I plan to post my Favorite Horror Books of 2024 So Far; Wednesday I have some new covers to share on Future Fiction; Thursday (happy Halloween!) I’ll post my October reading wrap-up; and on Friday stop by to see my plans for Sci Fi Month.
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Rest Stop by Nat Cassidy – Review 4.5/5 stars
The Nightmare Before Kissmas by Sara Raasch – Review 4/5 stars
25 Horror Books to Read in 2025
I’m not a fan of Halloween. It was a really big deal when I was growing up but I guess I’m just not that fun.
Your TTT freebie list is a great idea!

Ha ha I love the idea of Halloween but I always end up turning off the porch light and staying inside:-)
Only think I do these days for Halloween is watch classic horror movies, my favorite being The Wolf Man.
Have a great week and happy reading!

I hope you watch something good this year!
Aw, Badger is adorable! I don’t get really any trick or treaters where I live, so I go usually and see my niece and nephew, although they’re getting older, so that won’t go on too many more years. We actually have parent conferences all day Halloween, but are done by 4 pm. One year I’m going to go do a trunk or treat thing just so I can pass out candy because I like doing that. Hope you have a good week!

Thanks Lisa! I miss the days when my kids were little and we took them trick or treating…
Badger! I’m always happy to see him. Our neighbor hood is big on decorating and trick or treat but we haven’t participated in the last few years. I’m busy with the election stuff this week. I look forward to all your Scifi month reads.

I think the election is more important anyway:-)
Yay, Badger! Looking forward to your reviews of Run and Grimm Curiosities!
I just finished Grimm Curiosities last night and loved it!
I don’t do much these days for Halloween though I do enjoy trying to make time for a good horror movie. I hope you have a great one!
A horror movie sounds like the perfect way to spend the evening:-)
I will hand out the sweets…if kids come calling (last year we didn’t have any!). And Badger looks so pourd!

He does look proud, lol:-)
I should try one or two of Blake Crouch’s books sometime — I see them around, but I’ve realised I’ve never actually even really looked at what the stories were about. Hope you enjoyed Run!
I don’t think much will happen around here for Halloween; our front door is hard to find if you don’t know it’s there. I always stock up some sweeties just in case though!

Dark Matter and Recursion are my favorite Blake Crouch books:-)
Looking forward to your reviews on Run and Dark Space!
Halloween is not my thing, but have fun!
Thanks Emma!

Badger is such a beautiful boy!!
Thanks Susy!
We will be handing out candy but it’s always hit or miss how many kids we have come by. I’m hoping it’s a lot because Mr. Barb went overboard on the candy and I want it out of here! Badger needs a skateboard! Apollo actually has one and disappointed Mr. Barb when he didn’t seem interested in it. Maybe Zekey can use it as a chew toy.

Badger looks like a statue posing as he is. Such a cutie.
