Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
I have a couple of blog related things I’m dealing with. First, if you read this blog on a computer, you might notice my galleries (like the one below) aren’t centered anymore. I have no idea how to fix this (I’m not a computer person), and I’m afraid it might be related to the WordPress classic editor I’m still clinging to (as opposed to the block editor you’re supposed to be using, lol). I know WordPress doesn’t support the classic editor anymore, so maybe it’s time for me to switch over? Let me know your thoughts. I hate change, but seeing my galleries off kilter like that is killing the OCD part of me!
Also, I’ve noticed some legitimate comments going into my spam folder lately, so I’ve started to check spam again. It also made me realize that I leave comments on blogs sometimes and they never show up, so maybe they are going into spam as well. Just a thought to check your spam filter every once in a while. If I follow your blog and I haven’t been commenting, that might be the reason!
Otherwise, I hope everyone has a good week. Our weather is lovely here right now, so I’m soaking it up. I’ll share another of hubby’s photos from Brazil below!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
I read two pretty short books this week, Odd Spirits (very good and well paced for the length) and Tiny Threads (very weird!), so expect reviews from both this week. I’m currently reading American Rapture, and will most likely pick up The Black Hunger after that.
Other posts this week:
On Tuesday I’m sharing my Most Anticipated Books of the 4th Quarter, and you can also see how I did last quarter (spoiler alert: not very good!); Wednesday I found three exciting cover reveals to share on Future Fiction; and I may join in The Friday Face-Off this week!
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
The Hitchcock Hotel by Stephanie Wrobel – Review 4.5/5 stars

Out of the Drowning Deep by A.C. Wise – Review 4.5/5 stars
Really curious to see what you think of American Rapture, it’s not one I’ve heard much about but I really like the cover.
This week’s photo is so cute 😀

Oh I hate tech issues I am not good with those either! Hope you figure out the problem.
Those Capybaras are really cute!
Have a great week and happy reading!

I agree that ODD SPIRITS was well paced for its length. It makes me happy when I find a novella that does that well.
I use the block editor, but I think that’s the only one I’ve known haha. Maybe there’s a plugin I can use, but I kind of hand code the sizing of my images within each post. FYI, your galleys don’t really show up when I read your posts in the Jetpack WP app. Not sure what that’s about…could be an app thing??
I hate tackling blog issues. I also use the classic editor and have never cared about whether my images were centered or not. *shrugs* Good call on checking the spam folder. I’ll do that today.

The capybara babies are adorable! Ugh to having issues with the blog. I know I have one person’s blog that I can’t put my website in the website part of the comment form, and also can only put my name, not even the Lisa Loves Literature in the name spot or it won’t let me comment. So weird with these things! Hope you have a good week!

Capybaras!!! Adorable, great photo. I switched over to block editor a while back, and have gotten used to it. I don’t have any other brilliant suggestions about why your galleries aren’t centered. 🙁 Interesting about the spam — I never check, and I guess I should Wishing you a great week!
These Capybaras are so sweet! And I use the new WordPress block editor for years now and didn’t have any problem. So it might be worth it!
The pic is so beautiful!! And I am curious to know what you would think of American Rapture!!
Ugh, I hate the stupid block editor. I’ve stayed on classic too, but I’m not sure how you’re adding your images… I just add them to the editor and then centre them with the same button as I’d centre text.
I read Out of the Drowning Deep this week after your review last week! I loved it.
I had taken a 10-year break from blogging and started new just a few months ago. The block editor took a little getting used to but it was worth it. If you need any help, just let me know. I love doing all the computer stuff which is probably why my blog looks different every time you go there. LOL However, I am on a low version of wordpress.com so what I have access to is pretty limited.
I always check my spam. I get good comments in there all the time. I can’t figure out why it thinks some things are spam and others aren’t.

Sorry to hear about the WordPress issues. I hope you’re able to get it all sorted out without too much pain along the way. And look at that Capybara family! Awesome! 🙂
Tbh I’m still using classic in WordPress. I don’t see why WordPress aren’t supporting it any more – I like it. I suppose I’ll have to move to Block eventually but I can’t say I really find any benefits to doing so and in the meantime it just takes me longer to do everything because it’s all new (which is why I resisted changing for so long).
Capybaras are so cute. Lovely picture.
Lynn 😀
I try to check my spam folder regularly because I’ve had similar problems with comments on occasion. And sometimes even my replies end up in the spam folder. It’s really weird. I love the cover of Odd Spirits and it sounds good too! I hope you have a great week, Tammy!

I’m half curious about American Rapture but I’m waiting for other people’s thoughts before deciding if I want to try it so I’m curious to know what you think. Also, The Black Hunger sounds so good! That Capybara picture is ADORABLE!!
