September was a weird month, and to be honest I’m glad it’s over. My reading stalled out during the week I had to evacuate, and I lost my routine for a while. Still, I managed to read and review eight books, which I consider a win. No five star books this month, but it’s still a very solid bunch. Here are the books I reviewed in September, and you can click the links to read my reviews:
Looks like you had a pretty good reading month!
I hope October brings a return to routine! I’m glad you and yours came through the evacuation with no damage or lasting effects. Wishing you a new month full of great reading! (I’m still looking forward to reading So Thirsty! Hopefully, that’ll be an October book for me)
So many spooky reads. The cover of Out of the Drowning Deep is insane. Love it.
I hope October is much a better, more normal month for you. I am behind on catching up with some of your posts and I am looking forward to catching up and reading these reviews!
I also really enjoyed The Night Guest. I wasn’t sure I was going to when I began it as it just wasn’t catching my attention at first, but that quickly changed and I ended up very much enjoying it. I listened to the audiobook version, and though I’m not the biggest fan of the narrator’s “created” voices I did enjoy her more natural voice so it worked well.
I tried to find a Rachel Harrison book at one of my local indie bookstores, but they had none. Anyway, looks like you managed to have a decent reading month despite the interruption to your routine. Here’s to hoping no more fires!
I hope you’re okay after having to evacuate. It sounds scary. My readings been a bit off lately too but I’m loving my current read and just got accepted for one of my most anticipated books for next year so hopefully that combination will get me back into the swing of things.
I’m sorry that you didn’t find any five star reads last month but I’m glad most of your books were four stars plus at least.
It’s totally understandable that September was a weird one for you with the evacuation and everything. Hopefully October will be a better one.

It’s a good reading month considering how crazy things have been. My favorites this month would be The Reaping by Jess Lourey and The Serial Killers Guide to San Francisco by Michelle Chouinard.
I got to knock out a few of these books in the last few week of September, so I get to feel slightly less behind, lol!
That’s great given everything you guys went through. Just glad it all worked out ok. I need to do my round up – maybe Friday.
I see some of your 4 and a half star reviews I still need to read. I’m so glad you were able to take the do with you when you had to evacuate. And I can totally see how that would really mess up routines and all of it. Not to mention worrying about your home the whole time! Here’s to a good October for both of us!

I’m so impressed that you managed to read + review so many titles even after that upheaval of evacuation. We’re not in wildfire country but live on the gulf coast, so I do know how disruptive and scary it can be to have to run from your own home to escape disaster. I’m really glad you didn’t have to deal with anything worse.
You still had a good reading month.
Hopefully we’ll all catch up in the final quarter.
Lynn 😀
