Welcome to Buffy’s Corner, where I take a look at what’s coming up this week on the blog! I’m linking up with The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s blog, The Caffeinated Reviewer:-D
Happy August everyone! Our heat is back, after cooler temps last week. The hubby hasn’t taken any photos recently, so at the end of this post is a new Badger photo:-) Not much else to report, I hope everyone has a great week and reads lots of good books!
Upcoming reads & reviews:
My reading motto for August is “read what you want, when you want, and don’t worry about release dates,” so I’m picking books based on my mood. What a concept! This week I’ll be reviewing Ghost Mother and We Love the Nightlife. Ghost Mother was excellent, look for my review tomorrow. I’m currently reading We Love the Nightlife and it’s a lot of fun! Next up, I can’t believe I haven’t read Heads Will Roll yet, and then I hope to pick up The Unmothers. Depending on my mood, of course:-)
Other posts this week:
Wednesday is Future Fiction as usual, so stop by to see which three books I’m sharing; and as of right now, I don’t have any firm plans other than reviews, but we’ll see what happens:-)
In case you missed:
My posts from last week:
Over-Booked [197] – July Book Haul
Ghost Camera by Darcy Coates – Review 4.5/5 stars
What’s On My Plate – August 2024
A Marriage of Undead Inconvenience by Stephanie Burgis – Review 4/5 stars
Maybe just get him a good bone, Tammy? It sounds like he’s a bit hard on more expensive toys
We give him bones too. But it’s so cute to give him a new stuffed toy, I just want to make him happy, even if I have to clean up stuffing afterwards;-)
Hahaha Cleo also keeps destroying her toys. I got her a new donut toy this week so we’ll see how long that will last 😛

Oh that donut is going to be toast, lol!
At least you had a brief respite from the heat! No such luck here. *cries*
Looking forward to your Heads will Roll review (I didn’t get an eARC, but I’m going to buy a copy).
Aw, the poor rooster. Badger is so merciless ;D

Badger just wants to get to the squeaker and pull it out, lol. I just started Heads Will Roll and it’s a lot of fun so far!
Mood reading is a very good thing, have fun!

Thanks Emma, so far so good!
Badger looks like he’s been playing hard! So cute. Have a great week!
He is so rambunctious! He plays hard and then sleeps hard, lol.
It looks like what you want is horror. Badger looks so good. I’m happy to have more Badger photos.
I am reading a lot of horror right now for my Summer of Horror challenge! And I hope to share more photos of Badger. My husband takes way better photos than I do!
I see 2 books form your list that I knew about! This shows how busy I’ve been with everything else.
I don’t know if I’m “behind” on the rest of this year’s books or if there are really too many to keep track of.
There are WAY too many books being released these days. I know it’s a good thing overall, but it’s hard to read everything you want to.
I like your motto, “read what you want, when you want, and don’t worry about release dates,” and with that in mind I just started a reread of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. 🙂
Oh cool. That sounds like it might be very nostalgic:-)
Sorry that the heat’s back. Hopefully, it doesn’t last too long. I hope you have a great week!

Thank you! You too:-)
I have the same reading motto LOL
It seems to work for you:-)
Oooo, enjoy Read What You Want August! I’m making space for one or two SDCC reads this month.

I’m hoping to read at least one of my SDCC books as well:-)
Mood reading is the best! Enjoy!

It is, thanks!
Aah, sweet Badger! I’m so behind on reviews, and I can’t wait to see what you think of Heads Will Roll, it looks good! I need to be in a place to read what I want when I want. Maybe 2025 will be the year I actually stop signing up for review books other than my few author review teams I’m on? lol

I say that every year, that I’m cutting way back on review books. But it’s hard to say “no” when publishers offer them to you.
Yes!! Read what you want when you want! I have reading challenges I’ve committed to finishing this year, but I’ve learned my lesson and will probably follow these words of wisdom for next year!
What a cute photo of Badger! I love it!
Haze @ The Book Haze recently posted…Sunday Post | It’s August
Thanks Haze! I always hate being on a strict reading schedule so I’m allowing myself to pick based on my mood.
Awww, he wrecked his toy. Is he like the dog on the commercial…excited to get a new toy, but it doesn’t last long. 🙂

Exactly! They usually last for about five minutes, lol.
Badger is soooooo cute!!
Thanks Susy!
Badger is so darn cute. Zeke is in his destroy toy stage. He hates anything shaped like a triangle – ears, hats, horns. I don’t know how his mind works. I am almost done with We Love the Nightlife and hit a big twist last night before bed. Can’t wait to finish it today.
Thanks Barb! I’m wondering if he’s always going to destroy toys, or if he’ll grow out of it. My husband said at one point “No more toys with stuffing!” because it’s all over the house, but I can’t resist buying him cute toys, it makes him so happy:-)
All of my others have usually grown out of it and I know what you mean, mine both light up when there is something in the shopping bags for them.
Badger! So cute! I love him.
I love him too, he’s such a good boy:-)
Enjoy your mood reading. I’ve been jumping back and forth with some of my review books to.
Badger is as cute as ever.
Lynn 😀
I may do the same. I should stick to review books only right now, but I’m reading whichever review book catches my attention:-)
Ooh I didn’t know there was a new Josh Winning!
