Welcome to Future Fiction, my reimagining of the Waiting on Wednesday meme! There are so many amazing new books coming out, that I can no longer pick just one. My goal with Future Fiction is to share at least three new books each week, a combination of recent cover reveals and books that I’ve recently added to my TBR pile. I’m still going to be linking up with Wishful Endings/Can’t Wait Wednesday, and I also want to give a shout out to Jill at Breaking the Spine for starting the original Waiting on Wednesday meme. I hope you’ll find some new books to add to your TBR piles, and as always, I look forward to hearing what YOU’RE looking forward to:-D
A highly anticipated sequel, a locked room mystery, and a creepy house story are on the agenda today, take a look:
Bringer of Dust (The Talents Trilogy #2) by J.M. Miro. Releases in June 2024 from Flatiron Books. I was so excited to see this cover pop up on Goodreads! I absolutely loved the first book in the series, Ordinary Monsters, and I’m anxious to jump back into this magical world.
The deliciously twisty new locked room murder mystery from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Guest List and The Paris Apartment.
Welcome to the opening weekend of The Manor

All have an agenda. All have a past. But not everyone will survive….
The Midnight Feast
The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley. Releases in June 2024 from William Morrow. I have been meaning to read Lucy Foley for several years, and hopefully this will be the year I finally manage it. This very brief blurb has me so curious to read this!
As emotional as it is haunting, Through the Midnight Door explores the sometimes-fragile bonds of sisterhood and the way deeply rooted trauma can pass from generation to generation.
The Finch sisters once spent long, hot summers exploring the dozens of abandoned properties littering their dying town―until they found an impossible home with an endless hall of doors…and three keys left waiting for them. Curious, fearless, they stepped inside their chosen rooms, and experienced horrors they never dared speak of again.
Now, years later, youngest sister Claire has been discovered dead in that old, desiccated house. Haunted by their sister’s suicide and the memories of a past they’ve struggled to forget, Meg and Esther find themselves at bitter odds. As they navigate the tensions of their brittle relationship, they draw unsettling lines between Claire’s death, their own haunted memories, and a long-ago loss no one in their family has ever been able to face. With the house once again pulling them ever-closer, Meg and Esther must find the connection between their sister’s death and the shadow that has chased them across the years…before the darkness claims them, too.
Through the Midnight Door by Katrina Monroe. Releases in August 2024 from Poisoned Pen Press. I enjoyed the last book I read by Monroe, and this sounds really good and creepy. I do love stories that involve sisters, and add a mysterious house into the mix and you’ve got my attention:-)
I agree on all counts about the last one. Also “an impossible home with an endless hall of doors” is SO my brand LOL. I requested it on NG and EW…let’s hope I get an ARC!

Oooo, I hadn’t seen the cover for Bringer of Dust yet! Looking forward to that and The Midnight Feast!
These all sound great. Thanks for sharing!
These all look and sound great. I just discovered The Midnight Feast this week and added it to the wish list. I have yet to read Ordinary Monsters but do own a copy and this sequel is gorgeous! Great choices this week.
I’ve never read a Lucy Foley book but The Midnight Feast could be the first one. The description is short but it does intrigue me a lot. Locked room murder mysteries always draw me in for some reason.

I keep seeing Lucy Foley books and each one seems worth trying. One day! 🙂
I love stories about mysterious houses too and Through the Midnight Door does sound good. I love that cover! I haven’t read anything by Lucy Foley yet, but I would like to. Her books seem well liked. I hope you enjoy all three of these when you read them, Tammy!

I also love your Future Fiction posts! Always find new things to read and add to that endless TBR. Bringer of Dusts sounds intriguing! Going to have to add this series to the top of the list.
I really need to get to Ordinary Monsters, it’s been on my wishlist for ages!

I have always wanted to try a Lucy Foley book!
I had wondered when Ordinary Monsters would get its sequel! I feel like I need a huge refresher, though, haha. The Midnight Feast sounds really good–I didn’t love The Hunting Party by her, but I like the sound of this too mcuh not to give it a read, haha.
The Midnight Feast really intrigues me!
These all look good but the Lucy Foley book is definitely one I’m really looking forward to.
Lynn 😀
I still need to read Ordinary Monsters but I’m glad to hear it was a hit with you. I also haven’t gotten to a Lucy Foley book yet, this one sounds particularly intriguing so hopefully this will be the year for both of us.
Oooh, I’m excited to see Bringer of Dust announced! I’m going to have to brush up on what happened in Ordinary Monsters again, but I’m looking forward to continuing the story.
