The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: A satisfying conclusion
Thus ends the prompts for Lynn’s Friday Face-Offs. Moving forward, we can choose whatever book we’d like to do a cover comparison of. I did enjoy the prompts, but I think it will be easier to find books without them. And Lynn’s last prompt is perfect, both for the end of the year and the end of this phase of the meme. I’m doing a head-to-head comparison of a recent read that I loved, Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison:
U.S. edition, Berkley hardcover. I love the simplicity of this cover, with the werewolf front and center and blood dripping from the full moon. There’s no doubt what this book is about! To be honest, I love both these covers and can’t choose a favorite:-)
UK paperback edition, Titan Books 2023. OK so maybe I like this cover a little more than the U.S. edition:-) This won’t be released until next May, and I may need to buy a copy for myself.
Ooooh since that new UK edition is coming out in May I might wait until then to buy that book since I really wanna read it!

I like the US edition best, but I am so happy with the recent wave of brightly colored (especially pink) books!
I like that first cover the most, like you said for the simplicity, and I love the werewolf face against the bloody full moon.

Ooh, I really like both covers there!
I like the first cover. The UK cover is good. They both give off a horror romance vibe.

Whoa, the Titan edition is so cool! It really pulls off the pink 😀
I met the author at an event, but the books were not available because the final prints weren’t ready yet and the publishers had run out of ARCs. I want to read this book so badly, but it’ll have to wait. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I haven’t read it but I prefer the US edition.
Hard call, I love both but think the US just gets it.
Yes, I love that pink cover. Stunning.
Lynn 😀
