Over-Booked [167]

Welcome to Over-Booked, where I share my latest and greatest book acquisitions! There is a new blog hosting Stacking the Shelves, so do check out Reading Reality for more information!

Huge thanks to all the publishers who sent books my way. I’ll be reading many of these soon, as the release dates have already come and gone. Lots to look forward to!

Physical books for review:

Shout out to Tor for the first three books! A Restless Truth by Freya Marske was a complete surprise, and I’m eager to check out this standalone sequel to A Marvellous Light.

Likewise, I was not expecting a copy of The Cradle of Ice by James Rollins, sequel to The Starless Crown (which I sadly haven’t read yet.) This book is gorgeous!

And finally from Tor, a lovely copy of The Spare Man by Mary Robinette Kowal. This will be a perfect read for Sci Fi Month!

I am thrilled to have a copy of Mothered by Zoje Stage, and this will be my fourth book of hers. This is a March 2023 release, but I’m hoping to read it early. Huge thanks to Thomas & Mercer!

And I’m so happy to have a copy of Ghostwritten by Ronald Malfi. I am late getting to this, so it will probably be a November read. Hugs to Titan Books!

I’m trying a new publisher called Forever, and I was sent In the Shadow Garden by Liz Parker, which sounds like a wonderful “witchy” book that’s being compared to Practical Magic. I can’t wait to start this:-)

And finally, big thanks to Gallery/Saga Press for The Serpent in Heaven by Charlaine Harris. This is the 4th book in her Gunnie Rose series, which I have enjoyed.

Digital books for review:

I’m so excited to have a copy of Burn the Negative by Josh Winning, which I just featured this week on Future Fiction. The release date is quite a long ways away (next July) but I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to wait that long:-D

I had to grab Maeve Fly by CJ Leede as soon as it popped up on NetGalley. This book sounds crazy!

Likewise Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee is a must read, and I’m happy to have a copy.

Big thanks to G.P. Putnam’s Sons, Tor Nightfire and Tordotcom:-D

Any of these look good to you?

  1. I had fun with The Starless Crown, the only book so far I’ve read by James Rollins, and I’d be up for continuing the series with The Cradle of Ice. It’s been a very long while since I read anything by Mary Robinette Kowal. I wasn’t a big fan of her regency romance but I enjoyed how she wrote so I’d love to try something else by her. And Ronald Malfi has become a go-to horror author for me. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read of his.
