The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: A book with the word “You” in the title.
This week I’ve picked a book I haven’t read yet, but it’s a backlist book of a favorite author that I really want to read. The book is The Devil You Know by Mike Carey, or M.R. Carey as he’s also known. I found quite a few covers, and there are some good ones, take a look:
Grand Central Publishing 2007 | Orbit paperback 2018
Orbit paperback 2006 | Orbit Kindle edition 2008
Polish edition 2008 | Spanish edition 2007
Serbian edition 2009 | French edition 2010
I’m not sure why there are so many different Orbit editions, lol. As for favorites, I do love the Grand Central cover, it’s simple and effective. But the French edition is my favorite:
Great choice this week, Tammy! I think I like the Orbit paperback from 2018 the most.
I think I like the 2018 cover the best.
great! My favorite is the Grand Central edition.
I hope to be participating again next week. I almost did today, but the a meeting came up…

Several of these caught my eye. I like the first one the most. How his shadow looks like a cross.

I like the French one too and the Grand Central Pub one. 🙂
I think I’m torn between the Spanish and French. Very different covers but I like each one.
Yes, definitely the same choice in cover for me this week.
Lynn 😀
On the Polish edition, what I thought were splashes of water in the background (a beautiful, beachy or waterfall setting) are actually skeletons, yikes! So I pick that one as my favorite.

There really are some good ones! I like the Spanish edition 2007.
