Happy March, everyone! Here’s hoping for warmer Spring weather, wherever in the world you live. March is busting at the seams when it comes to new releases, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a month this crowded with books I want to read. Obviously, I can’t read all of these, but the following is a “menu” of what I’ll choose from. I have seventeen books highlighted below, and it’s quite the delectable-looking bunch! Here are the books I’d love to read in March:
Starting off the list is one of my most anticipated March releases, The Shadow Glass by Josh Winning. Early reviews are very positive, and I’m excited to start it!
Crowbones by Anne Bishop. I hope to start this one by the end of the week. I absolutely love Bishop’s World of the Others series, and if you are a fan of urban fantasy, you should check it out!
The Book of Cold Cases by Simone St. James. This will be my first book by the author, who I’ve wanted to check out since readers raved about The Sun Down Motel a couple of years ago.
Curfew by Jayne Cowie. This near-future science fiction tale about a society where the men are electronically tagged and have a curfew sounds pretty awesome!
Blood Scion by Deborah Falaye is a YA fantasy debut, and not my usual read. But it sounds really good, and other readers seem to love it.
Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May. I’m looking forward to this historical fantasy, and I hope to start it soon.
The City of Dusk by Tara Sim. This is my second Orbit Books fantasy that I”ll be reading this month, and I’m seeing some very good reviews so far!
Pennyblade by J.L. Worrad. The minute I saw this cover I knew I would have to check out this book. The main character is a “sharp-tongued disgraced noble-turned-mercenary” and I’m intrigued!
Until the Last of Me by Sylvain Neuvel. This is the second book in Neuvel’s alternate history science fiction series that explores an alien race who has shaped Earth’s path to the stars. The first book was really good, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Neuvel continues the series.
All the Horses of Iceland by Sarah Tolmie. I have quite a few shorter books/novellas to read this month, and this is one of them. There are some mixed reviews on Goodreads, but I’m still curious about it.
The Bone Orchard by Sara A. Mueller. I’m very excited to start this fantasy about witches and necromancers!
The Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi. I’ve already started this and love it so far! It’s been a few years since my last Scalzi book, and it’s nice to be back in his head:-)
The Soul Stealer by Graham Masterton. I’m on the blog tour for this book next week, so it’s coming up on the pile soon. Although the early reviews on Goodreads are making me very nervous…
Gallant by V.E. Schwab. My second YA of the month, I always love seeing what Schwab is going to come up with!
The Maker’s Box by David Barclay. I’ll probably be finished with this short horror novella by the time you read this.
Comeuppance Served Cold by Marion Deeds. Another novella, this time a historical fantasy set in the Roaring Twenties!
The Impossible Us by Sarah Lotz. A man and a woman from parallel universes fall in love, such a fun concept, I can’t wait!
Your mention of Pennyblade is the second I’ve encountered today, so I guess that resistance is going to be futile 😀 and I will have to see for myself where this intriguing premise leads!

I’m so curious to start it:-)
All the Horses of Iceland has appeared on my tablet, so that’s next. Yeah, the reviews are pretty varied, for sure. I guess I’ll see how it goes. I also have Comeuppance Served Cold on order, and I’m hopeful it’s a good read. Currently reading Bluebird (thanks to and for your review) and really liking it so far.
I’m glad you’re enjoying Bluebird:-)
I’m already intrigued by Curfew. Why only the men? What kind of society is it? Who’s in charge? It’s going to be a great reading month!

I know, the premise is intriguing!
“Starting off the list is one of my most anticipated March releases, The Shadow Glass by Josh Winning.”
Eeeeee! I’m reading the definitive version at the moment. It’s delightfully dark and funny and full of heart.
I’ve looked up The Soul Stealer on GR, and eh…I understand your being nervous. I hope it will work for you!
Also, one day you’ll have to share your secret for reading AND reviewing next to 20 books in a month LOL.

Ha ha I’ve never read and reviewed that many books in a month. I take on more than I can handle, unfortunately. I only reviewed 7 last month…
None of these books are on my immediate to be read but I’m looking forward to your reviews of them!

Thanks Stephanie!
Well, we share 3 of 17, which isn’t a great percentage, but… Heck, 7 of these I haven’t even heard of! I’ll probably at least get to Curfew, which I picked up thanks to your Future Fiction mention!
Not holding my breath for warmer weather; it usually snows through March, or freezing rain at least. No offense, but I hope you guys get a lot of wet weather down there so that it puts off any fire season til much, much later;)
Hey, I love the rain, I hope we have more in store too, but I’m not holding my breath, unfortunately…
It is a very rich menu indeed!! It goes without saying that all my attention is on Anne Bishop’s book, but there are other titles in there that seems amazing!!
I can hardly wait to dive into Crowbones:-)
I’m definitely planning to read Kaiju! Beyond that, none of these are on my plate for March… but I may be convinced to change my plans once I see your reviews! 🙂
I think Kaiju is going to be very popular this month:-)
You cetainly do have quite a list lined up for the month. I’m sure you’ll have no problem getting through them all. 🙂 I’ve been very lucky recently and won 3 giveaways within the stretch of a few weeks. Unfortunately, 2 of them were for books 2 and 3 of series I’ve yet to start… so this month I’m trying to play catchup with those series.
Yay for giveaway wins, congrats:-) It sounds like catching up with new series might be fun!
So many of these look fantastic, but I’m really excited for more from St. James, Schwab, and Scalzi! Happy reading!
Thanks Lauren!
I’ve also got the John Scalzi book lined up on my TBR pile and very much looking forward to it. And I’m really intrigued about The Impossible Us – what a cool concept! I hope you enjoy tucking into your impressively varied and long list of books, Tammy:)
Thanks Sarah! It is quite the mix of genres, isn’t it?
I just received my copy of Gallant today and I’m so excited to read it!

Judging just by the covers, they all look pretty cool…lol. 🙂 Hope you enjoy them!
I love all the covers:-)
Witches and necromancers! Bone Orchard sounds interesting.
I can’t wait to read it:-)
I will wait to see what you think of this Neuvel, and then may begin this series. I was disappointed by his author other series. Book 1 was good, but I didn’t enjoy the next one.

I actually liked the first book the best as well:-)
A few of these are on my wishlist. Can’t wait to see what you make of The Book of Cold Cases as I loved The Sun Down Motel so am looking forward to this 🙂

I do have a lot on my plate, lol. It’s a little intimidating:-)
I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on.. oh… most of these! xD Perhaps Bone Orchard most of all, because I’m not entirely sure if that’s a book I’d “meh” or absolutely adore, you know? I *am* positive I will pick up Shadow Glass and Kaiju at some point, though!

I agree, the cover is creepy but beautiful:-)
March is insane! I tried to get a head start and only managed to read Crowbones early lol.
Yep, I didn’t get very far ahead either. Oh well…
The st. James and Scalzi books are two that I’d love to read too! The Scalzi one in particular, I just love the premise of that- I’m glad tohear it’s good so far. 🙂 ;

The Scalzi was so much fun!
You have some great books to look forward to. I also tried to get a head start which was definitely helpful given how many books seem to be releasing this month.
Lynn 😀
March is absolutely crazy with new releases! Ugh on one hand but good on the other…
Yes Crowbones. I hope to get my preorder at release! And I just started Cit of Dusk. Good so far!

Good to hear! I want to start City of Dusk soon:-)
The Bone Orchard is on my TBR! I feel like I probably learnt about it from you, haha. I am also intrigued by All the Horses of Iceland – I forget what Tolmie’s previous book is called, but I believe that’s also on my TBR, so I’ll probably try that one first.
