This week’s theme: A middle grade cover.
I don’t read much MG fiction, but if I did, I’d read one by one of my favorite authors, Stephanie Burgis! Stephanie has written for all age groups, and I know her MG books are beloved among younger readers. Today I’ve chosen The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart, and there are some pretty darn cute covers, take a look:
Bloomsbury US edition 2017 | Romanian edition 2017
Bloomsbury UK edition 2017 | German edition 2017
Turkish edition | Serbian edition 2018
The cutest-looking dragon for me is the one on the Turkish cover – and now I wonder: does the dragon’s chocolate heart melt when he breathes fire? 😉

We will have to read it to find out!
Yeah, picking just one would be tough. If looking for something that’s cute and seems to perfectly fit the title I’d choose the Romanian edition with the heart formed by dragon’s wings and the bit of chocolate at it’s center. But if I were younger and looking to read the book I’d choose the Turkish edition, imagining myself hanging on and flying with the dragon.
That makes sense! Younger kids will probably go for the character riding the dragon:-)
I love all the covers!
Me too, Kristi:-)
I like the Romanian cover best, because heart! But the Turkish edition is a close second, because shared flight 🙂
That heart is really cute:-)
All of those are cool but I think I love the Romanian one the most! 🙂
That one is pretty popular:-)
All of these covers are super adorable! I think my preference goes to the Romanian one. It’s really cute!

I agree, I really like that one:-)
I love dragons a lot so I am very partial to them all, lol, but I think I would chose the Turkish version.
Thanks for sharing !
I love dragons too, especially cute ones:-)
All of those are so cute, but I think my favorite is the Romanian! 🙂
A lot of people are liking that one best:-)
Those are all so cute! I definitely still want to read this book someday as well. 🙂 I think the Turkish edition is especially lovely!
I’d like to read it too, and it’s a series:-)
Yes, super cute! I like the Romanian edition because of this!
I really do love all of them, I can’t choose:-)
This sounds like a marvelous story — what’s a chocolate heart doing in a dragon? Sooner or later, it’s bound to “melt”, eh? Like the UK edition the best.

Ha ha I never thought of that.
I can’t choose either! The dragons are all so well-done! Covers like his are why I wanted a pet dragon as a child!
I agree, such different styles but they all work so well:-)
I love this book! It was such a fun read. I didn’t realize there were so many different covers. I think I like the US one best. I like the style of the dragon’s wing and the purple/blue tones.

I need to read it!
These are all super cute! I love them all but if I had to pick a favorite, I’d go with the first one, mainly just because it has so much purple in it and that’s my favorite color, lol.
I’m drawn to purple too:-)
All of these covers are adorable!!
These are all such cute covers for this book! I think they’re all great.
I love the first cover – the colours really appeal to me and I don’t know why but purple is a colour that I automatically connect with chocolate – what’s that about!?
Lynn 😀
