Welcome to Over-Booked, where I share my latest and greatest book acquisitions! I’m linking up with Stacking the Shelves over at Tynga’s Reviews.
Just a few new review books this week! And seriously, they are all very exciting, take a look:
Physical books for review:
I was so excited when I opened this package! The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman ranks high on my “most anticipated” list of 2021, and I’m very grateful to Tor for this lovely ARC.
With thanks to Angry Robot, I receive a finished copy of The Second Bell by Gabriela Houston, and I have a spot on the blog tour as well. My review will go up on March 9th, so I’ll be diving into this soon!
Finally in the physical stack, a beautiful finished copy of Machinehood by S.B. Divya. This comes out in a couple of weeks, so I definitely plan to read and review it soon. Thank you to Gallery/Saga Press!
Digital books for review:
I was just invited to review Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir and I’m so excited! I didn’t think I’d get a review copy so I was going to just buy the book when it came out. Actually, I will still probably buy a hard copy:-)
So happy to be approved for We Are Satellites by Sarah Pinsker. Ever since I read A Song for A New Day, I’ve been anticipating her next book. This sounds really good!
This will be my third Oliver K. Langmead book, and Birds of Paradise not only has a wonderful cover, but I’m dying to see if the publisher’s comp—”American Gods meets The Chronicles of Narnia”—is true.
I swear I always get so much mileage out of my Sci Fi Month lists every year, and because I featured The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He on a list last year, a publicist saw my post and offered me a review copy. I’m very excited to read this, it sounds like it might be an exceptional YA.
Big thanks to Ballantine Books, Berkley Books, Titan Books and Roaring Brook:-D
How many interesting books!! The Blacktongue Thief is the one I am more curious about (ok, that book is on my TBR already) but all the others sound great! And I especially want to know what you would think of Hail Mary!!
Me too, I’m so curious for Hail Mary:-)
I can’t wait for Project Hail Mary and The Ones We’re Meant to Find. Happy reading!
Thanks Lauren!
Wonderful, you have some excellent ARCs in tow. Look forward to your reviews, especially for Blacktongue and Joan He’s work.
Lex @ Lexlingua recently posted…One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
I’m excited for both of those:-)
Nice haul – The Blacktongue Thief looks great! I have a digital ARC, but I’d much rather hold it in my hands, 🙂
I was very happy to get a physical ARC:-)
I’m curious to see how Weir will deal with the situation in Project Hail Mary, which sounds like a cross between his previous The Martian and Artemis: the first was not to my liking, while I enjoyed the second, so I’m beyond curious for this one 🙂

I’m curious too, to see how this compares to his last two books. I enjoyed both, so I have high hopes!
I’ve had my eyes on The Blacktongue Thief and Machinehood, so I look forward to reading your thougths on those. And I agree, that cover for Birds of Paradise is fantastic, so many different layers to it.
I may have to buy Birds of Paradise, since I love the cover so much:-)
I didn’t realize Andy Weir is coming out with a new book. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on that.
Happy reading!
Thank you!
Really excited for you to read the new Pinsker book! I’ll be waiting for the release for that one myself but I’m hyped for it and looking forward to your thoughts. 🙂
I’m so excited. Her last book was such a nice surprise:-)
I just got an ARC of Project Hail Mary too! Can’t wait to read it!
Cool! I’m super excited, hope it’s as good as I hope:-)
Cool haul! Some of those look really interesting! Hope you enjoy them all!
Thanks Stormi:-)
I should be getting a lot of these in the mail too, hopefully soon! The ice and snow has really done a number on our delivery times here, lol. So excited about Project Hail Mary!
It’s been a rough year all around for getting mail, lol.
Looks like you’ve got some great books coming up! Excited to read your reviews!

Thanks Hasini:-)
I’m heartened that you have recently approved to read the Andy Weir – I was just looking at my NG account and figuring that I wasn’t going to get a copy. But maybe I will! Fingers crossed:)). I also love the look of We Are Satellites… As ever, you have the COOL books!
I hope you do! My fingers are crossed for you:-)
I just got approved for the new Andy Weir too and I’m so excited. It sounds fantastic!
Oh good! I hope we both love it:-)
The Blacktongue Thief and The Second Bell both sound really good! Can’t wait to see what you think of them.
Looking forward very much to your thoughts on Project Hail Mary and Blacktongue Thief.
Lynn 😀
I can’t wait to read The Second Bell and I do love the cover of Birds of Paradise but will have to see some reviews before I read it.
The Second Bell looks good! I’m super curious about that one. I’m excited about Project Hail Mary, too!
