The Friday Face-Off: Serpentine

The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!

This week’s theme: A book that relates to “serpentine.”

This week I decided to go literal, and so I’ve chosen books with the word “serpent” in the title. There are a LOT of them, surprisingly enough. Take a look:

Have you read any of these books? Do you have a favorite cover?

  1. I’ve not read any of these. I’m picking The Serpent Sea. I’ve been wanting to read Martha Wells long before Murderbot came about. And now that I love Murderbot I want to read her other work even more.

  2. Fantastic idea. I love seeing these all together. I love the cover for Silvered Serpents. And, The Serpent of Venice was so good. My first book by that author .
    Lynn 😀

  3. I think the first three are my favourite covers but it’s so hard to pick just one. Maybe Girl Serpent Thorn? And I haven’t read any of these yet but a few are definitely on nybhigh priority tbr

  4. What a lovely gallery of serpentine books:)). I particularly love the Marie Brennan series. But what caught my eye is the Martha Wells’ fantasy series! Which I’m going to check out as I love the sound of it… Thank you for sharing, Tammy!

  5. I like your take on this week’s FFO. My own favorite cover is for Tropic of Serpents (because what are dragons if not serpents?). Serpent and the Dove has an interesting cover, but that particular golden snake never looked believable!

  6. I’ve not read any of these yet, although The Essex Serpent and Serpent & Dove are both on my TBR. I think my favorite cover is the one for The Silvered Serpents. I’m not even sure why honestly. It’s just so pretty, lol.
