Earlier today on a whim I sent out a call on Twitter to see if any self published science fiction authors were interested in participating in a showcase post for Sci Fi Month, and I was overwhelmed with responses! In an attempt to organize everyone who’s kindly expressed interest, I thought I’d create a form here on the blog so I don’t miss anyone.
I’ve also decided to include authors who are working with small and micro press publishers as well, since I know there are a lot of cool publishers out there.
Here’s the gist of what I’m looking for and hope to accomplish:
Everyone talks about self-published fantasy, but where the heck is all the self-published sci-fi? I know it’s out there. Sci Fi Month (click the link to learn more about this fantastic blogging event) runs through the month of November and is the perfect time to gather these folks together and spread the word. My goal is to feature five to ten authors in one post, with the option to post more than once if the interest is there. What would I include? I’d love each author to choose one book or series that you’ve self-published that fits the science fiction genre (or any sub-genres). No fantasy please! I would include a cover image, story blurb, author photo and bio, and any social media or purchase links you would like to see in the post.
Depending on the response I get, I may have to cap off authors at some point. I’m sort of playing it by ear at this point, so bear with me while I work out the details!
Sci Fi Month is one of the most popular book blogging events of the year, so you’re sure to get some good exposure.
If you are interested, please fill out the form below, and I will contact you via email. Please feel free to include any questions you might have in the message section below. And thank you to those of you who have already emailed me. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Love the idea, and it’s funny because just the other day I was thinking about the SPFBO and wondering if a sci-fi one existed or if it had occurred to anyone to start one. It does seem self-pub is heavily focused on fantasy.
Great initiative, Tammy. 🙂

This is an amazing idea!!!
Great idea! I’ve also read mostly self-pub fantasy, mostly? only? probably only, I know Krista D. Ball has a sci-fi series but I haven’t read it, so really curious to see what your post turns up!
Brilliant idea! I never focused before on the fact that most of the self-published works tend to be fantasy-based and there is not enough of them in SF, so I’m looking forward to your posts on this subject – and the fact that you received so many replies is beyond encouraging 🙂

Love this idea! I don’t read nearly enough Sci-Fi as is, and I can only think of maybe one Self-Published Sci-Fi series I’ve read? So it will be great to see the books you feature!
Sci-Fi Month is going to be awesome this year! Good luck and happy reading!
This sounds amazing! I can not wait til November! Thank you for putting this together.
I really hope you find some great self-published sci-fi because I’d love to read some. Thanks for doing this.
