The Friday Face-Off was created by Books by Proxy, where each week bloggers can showcase books with covers centered around a weekly theme. You can visit Lynn’s Books for a list of upcoming themes. Join in the fun each Friday by finding a book whose cover is based on the theme!
This week’s theme: A cover that is brown.
Well, brown is officially the hardest color to find on book covers, at least for me! Ha ha. I’ve put together a selection of brownish covers that sort of work together? Hey, there are shades of brown, just like shades of blue, right?
I always love the color cover collages! I almost went with the Naturalist series this week, all of its covers would have worked pretty well!
I agree, all of The Naturalist covers have brown in them:-)
I think that The Naturalist is the less favorite, but the other ones are beautiful!!
The Naturalist is rather boring…
Many would think that brown is a rather drab color, but these covers belie the concept!
Clockwork Dynasty is my favorite, since it’s what drew me to the book in the first place… 😉

Me too, I love Clockwork Dynasty, although I haven’t read it yet…
I think it might have to be Made Things or The Night Dahlia. However I have to admit, they all look pretty cool!
I was surprised how much I like brown covers!
I like the cover for Clockwork Dynasty best.
Me too, I think it’s my favorite.
A lot of these are really amazing actually! It’s really hard to pick a favorite but I’m gonna go with Cries from the Lost Island. ♥

Good choice. I wonder if there is too much red in that cover to be considered brown?
I like a lot of them but Made Things and The Naturalist are two of my favorites.
I love those two as well:-)
Sooooo many great covers, it’s hard to pick a favorite out of these honestly. Although I do have a soft spot for Smoke and Summons. 🙂
I love that cover as well!
I think I’m going to go with Clockwork Dynasty – I have a soft spot for steampunk.
Me too, and that cover is really good:-)
Brown is a tough one! I think I like Made Things and Clockwork Dynasy the best.
Happy Friday!

Clockwork Dynasty is definitely one of the cooler covers:-)
Great picks! Clockwork Dynasty was so much fun. 🙂
I haven’t read it, but I want to:-)
Ooh, I like a lot of these covers. I didn’t even realize they had released a cover for Piranesi–I was so excited, then forgot about it I guess! The Gossamer Mage, Made Things, and Clockwork Dynasty all also really stand out to me. 🙂
I’m surprised how much I love these brown covers, since brown isn’t a color I would normally like!
I’m partial to Made Things, which I’ve still yet to read. Hoping to fit that one in sometime soon given how short it is.
Made Things was very good, hope you enjoy:-)
What a wonderful collage of brown covers, Tammy! My favourites are The Naturalist and Smoke and Summons – I’m hoping to read The Naturalist very soon:))).
The Naturalist is so much fun, enjoy!
I really like all of these, Tammy, and I love the color brown. It’s too hard to pick a favorite for this one- I agree.
I tried to only pick good covers;-)
Wow, you did well finding so many brown ones. As soon as I read the topic, my brain went completely blank and I couldn’t think of any. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I think Smoke & Summons is the one that Jumps out at me the most.
Ha- it is tough to pick a favorite when they are all so different! I think maybe I’d go with Made Things?
Cries from the Lost Island is very pretty, but I’m also going to go with Clockwork Dynasty.
You now … I can’t think of more than maybe one or two brown covers, either? Huh. I guess it’s just not a popular color cover? To be fair, it tends to be kind of a dull cover. I think you chose a wonderful selection here, and I’m really looking forward to reading Piranesi!
Oooh Smoke and Summons is my favorite cover on your list!! I was also surprised at how weirdly hard brown covers were to find haha I was thinking about participating again this week but I couldn’t find a brown cover I liked
