Book Review Giveaway – Win a Book I Reviewed in September

I started my Book Review Giveaway for two reasons: one, I wanted more people to read my reviews. Most bloggers I know bemoan the fact that even though book reviews are the main reason they blog, readers gravitate towards more “exciting” posts like memes, lists, giveaways, and discussions. Two, I wanted to put one of the books I’ve read each month in the hands of someone who’s really excited to read it. I stopped doing it because I just needed a break. Well, the break is over! Here’s how my giveaway works:

  • Each month around the 15th, I’ll post the giveaway, featuring all the books I reviewed the previous month. (sort of like a wrap-up post, but with bonus content!)
  • I’ll leave links to my reviews because I want you to read them if you haven’t!
  • The giveaway will run for two weeks, until the end of the month, at which point I’ll randomly choose a winner.
  • **Bonus: If I manage to post EIGHT reviews in a month, I will choose TWO winners! (That’s gonna be hard, my average is 6-7)
  • The giveaway is INTERNATIONAL, provided The Book Depository ships to your country.
  • No substitutions! If you win and you’ve already read the books, or you just don’t like the sound of any, then I suggest you don’t enter. This giveaway is pretty specific and this is one rule I’m strict with. I usually post a variety of books, both adult and YA, in lots of genres, so hopefully there will be something that interests you.
  • I use Rafflecopter for my giveaways, and there are multiple ways to enter. You don’t have to have a Twitter account to participate!

Congrats to last month’s winner, Linda R., who chose The Monster of Elendhaven!

September was an awesome month for me, and I really loved just about everything I read. Here are the books up for grabs in this month’s giveaway! Click on the links to read my reviews if you haven’t yet:

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow. The nitty-gritty: A delightful adventure filled with mystery, danger, romance and a dog named Bad. Oh, and lots of Doors.

Our War by Craig DiLouie. The nitty-gritty: A powerful and realistic portrayal of a near future civil war, Our War is a harrowing, emotional and ultimately uplifting story about the nature of war.

A Song for a New Day by Sarah Pinsker. The nitty-gritty: Sarah Pinsker’s love of music shines through in this wonderful debut, where two women might just have enough moxie between them to change the world.

Ormeshadow by Priya Sharma. The nitty-gritty: A short but powerful tale of the dark emotional lives of a family, Ormeshadow is an exceptional novella with the promise of magic just around the corner.

Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. The nitty-gritty:  Weird, shocking, bloody and did I mention weird? Reading Gideon the Ninth was an experience.

Greener Pastures by Michael Wehunt. The nitty-gritty: Odd and unsettling, Michael Wehunt’s stories are glimpses into Twilight Zone-like worlds where horror is just another everyday occurrence.

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. The nitty-gritty: Evocative world-building combined with an overstuffed plot left me with mixed feelings about this YA fantasy debut.

I’m not sure which book I’d choose! “The Ten Thousand Doors of January” does sound interesting!

  2. I love that you do that. Writing a review isn’t easy but you make it sound easy and congrats for reading so many books! I am not much of an avid reader. None of those books fancy me but I am happy you enjoyed them.

  3. This would be a tough choice. I absolutely loved your reviews of both The Ten Thousand Doors of January and Our War, so I’d have to pick one of those.

  4. This is so kind of you to do every month!
I only participated once because I like giving others a chance if there is not something I really really want.

ZOMG! I want to read The Ten Thousand Doors of January in the *worst* way! Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  6. Thanks to you – my choice would be The Ten Thousand Doors of January. What a cool idea, Tammy – and thank you for making it international:))

Fantastic giveaway options. I think I’d have to go with Our War after your glowing review and that interview!
