This week it’s all about the aesthetics of book covers! I mean who doesn’t grab a book based on its cover? I know I’ve done that plenty of times. For some reason, I always gravitate towards the cool end of the spectrum: blues, greens and purples, and because of that I’ve read lots of books whose covers are primarily those colors. I could not restrict myself to ten books, so here’s a lovely smorgasbord of cool colors, all books that I really loved (in no particular order):
I love seeing so many awesome books, all with blue/green/turquoise/purpley covers all together like this. I would normally link these to my reviews, because I never get tired of talking about books I love, but because I’m tired today, I’m just going to leave out the links. Feel free to use the search bar if you’d like to read my reviews, however!
Blue covers are so pretty. I went for blue this week too after going through my Goodreads shelves and realizing just how many I had to choose from 🙂 We’ve only got one the same, Fellside, so I’m off to check out some of your reviews and add to my TBR (again!) 😀
I believe blue might be a favorite of publishers, I see them so often:-)
Love your picks! I did blue covers this week and none of ours crossed over!
There are so many to choose from, I literally could have shown 40-50 covers:-)
I chose blue/green covers this week, too! But we actually chose completely different books 🙂 I should have thrown in Gemina. That cover is captivating.

There are so many blue/green covers that I’m actually not surprised we chose different books:-)
The Secret Life of Souls is beautiful, just like the book. That Fellside one would be gorgeous if they hadn’t stuck that Girl With All The Gifts pic on the cover to trick me into thinking it was a sequel! (not bitter about that at all . . .)
Ha ha, I agree! I hate when publishers do that. Like we wouldn’t pick up the book without them telling us what other popular book the author wrote!
Blue/green/turquoise/purpley covers are my favorite! Of the ones you picked I like The Secret Life of Souls and Railhead! Great choices 😀
Thanks! I love The Secret Life of Souls, and it really does a good job with the theme of the story.
Those are all so intricate! I love the detail book cover artists get in there. Especially in speculative fiction, apparently. Wow!
Spec Fic covers are so gorgeous these days, I agree!
The cover for Borne is my favorite, it is not-only gorgeous but also very representative of the content! One of my favorite blue cover is the cover of Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee 😀
Ninefox Gambit definitely would have made this list if I had read it:-)
I love cool colors like those you’ve chosen! Gemina and The Secret Life of Souls are so gorgeous. I also really love the colors in This Monstrous Thing–they managed to fit so many in and it looks so lovely.

I love when the artist can combine colors like This Monstrous Thing, and it’s nice because it fit in so well with my color theme!
I love the cover for Blightborn: there are so many intriguing elements there, like the futuristic city in the center of the page and the columns with the winged horses as brackets, that hint at something more fantasy-related. A further investigation is required… 😉

Blightborn is the second in a series, but it’s a really good series, and I wish more people knew about it. And yes, THAT COVER!!
They are allll gorgeous – but if I’d have to choose, then it’s got to be Blightborn and Masks and Shadows. Thank you for sharing, Tammy.
Blightborn is spectacular, isn’t it? A series that doesn’t get enough attention, IMO.
So pretty. I love blue and green. So many great books too. Gemini was great and I spy a few I want to explore further.

I LOVED Gemina! I still need to read Obsidio, however.
OHMYGOSH! The Secret Life Of Souls has a STUNNING COVER! these are all great picks Tammy
It’s a fantastic book too!
Green’s my favorite color and blue and purple aren’t far behind, so I like all these really! But standouts for me are Cash Crash Jubilee, Our Lady of the Ice, and Fellside. Star’s end is nice too…

Cash Crash Jubilee is definitely one of my favorites of this bunch, I love the way the artist made a nighttime scene so vibrant:-)
I really love that blue-green or teal color, it’s why I adore the cover to The Nine!

The Nine is really one of my very favorite covers. That combo of colors just makes me happy:-)
I’m loving the cover of the Silk Map. Adding it to my TBR for that reason.
Hey, that’s not a bad reason to add a book to your TBR:-)
What an amazing, eye catching display. I love it.
Lynn 😀
Ahhh so many great covers here! My favorites are Nine, Crash Cash Jubilee, and The Silk Map!
