Waiting on Wednesdays is the brainchild of Jill at Breaking the Spine, and because Jill isn’t hosting it any more, I’m now linking up with Can’t Wait Wednesday at Wishful Endings. Stop over there and link up your “Can’t Wait” book of the week!
This idea sounds so cool! And the idea of an underground ballroom is based on a real thing, which makes this collection even more enticing. I’m a big fan of Stephanie Burgis, and I can’t wait to find out how different authors interpret this theme.
An anthology of sparkling adult f/sf stories featuring underwater ballrooms of one sort or another, from a 30s ballroom to a Martian hotel to a grand rock ‘n roll ball held in the heart of Faery itself. Edited by Stephanie Burgis and Tiffany Trent.
The Underwater Ballroom Society edited by Tiffany Trent & Stephanie Burgis. Releases in April 2018 from Five Fathoms Press. Not much of a blurb, but it’s enough for me:-) I’ve been reading so many short stories this year, I’m not sure why, but I hope to continue this trend throughout the rest of the year.
I did not expect underwater ballrooms to be a real thing, never mind the theme for these stories! And damn that cover looks etheral! Great find Tammy!
Ha ha me either! Yes, the cover is perfect for the theme, I think.
What a cool concept for an anthology and that article on the real thing was pretty interesting as well. You struck again! Gotta go add this to my wishlist.

I love when authors find real life things that inspire them, especially when those things are so interesting:-)
Oh what a wonderful theme for an anthology:)). I look forward to hearing what you make of this one, Tammy *visibly resisting the urge to go and request it*
I just checked for it on NetGalley but didn’t see it. I think the editors are running a contest for an eARC though. I should have linked that up! You could probably google it, though.
That is such a unique idea for a collection! I can’t wait to read more about it.
It’s definitely one of the most unique things I’ve come across lately:-)
Definitely an interesting theme for an anthology. Iād be interested to learn more about the stories in it.
I’m dying to read this, I can’t even imagine what might take place in an underwater ballroom!
Oh wow! This sounds wondefful! Underwater ballrooms?!?! Great find!!
Right?? Such a cool idea!
I have never heard of this, but I must say I’m extremely intrigued by the idea of an underwater ballroom. Thanks for adding this to my radar! You can check out my Wednesday post in the link below.

It’s definitely a unique idea, and I’m so curious to see how different authors interpret this theme:-)
An underground ballroom? The cover is lovely – I’m still trying to imagine setting a story there. I’ll have check this one out though I am not much of a short story reader.

Meant underwater ballroom – though I guess that could be underground. LOL
I’m so curious about this too, it’s just such a unique set up for a story collection!
Oh my gosh, wow, that sounds great š the shortness of that blurb only makes me wonder even more what it’s going to tell š

I know! Sometimes short blurbs are even better, because they don’t give too much away:-)
I saw this the other day (caught my eye because of Stephanie Burgis). I hope you enjoy! I should read more short stories

Her name on the cover definitely attracted my attention as well:-)
Interesting! I’m always looking for short stories to read between books and this anthology sounds like THE thing š
As a Burgis fan, like you, I’m receiving good vibes from this book…
Thanks for sharing!

I’m so glad I stumbled upon this collection, I think the publisher might be Stephanie Burgis’ own label, but I’m not sure.
Wow, what an amazing idea – I love Stephanie Burgis so look forward to this one – I don’t normally read short stories but would definitely make an exception for this. Beautiful cover.

I love Stephanie as well! And this idea is so cool:-)
Not sure this one would be for me, but interesting theme to build an anthology around! And agreed, that’s some author line up!

For some reason I committed to quite a few short story collections in the past few months, so I’ve been reading lots of them. And surprisingly, enjoying a lot of them:-)
Now this looks awesome, and I love that cover!! I have a thing for underwater covers I guess, I always seem to gravitate to them! Anyway this sounds great, definitely adding it!

Me too, Greg, I just love anything with water/the ocean on the cover, probably because blue is one of my favorite colors!
Three things I love: ballrooms, anthologies, and Stephanie Burgis. I am so here for this one!

That’s such a bizarre concept to base a bunch of stories on but wow, I love it.
