Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where each week bloggers are given a different top ten list to blog about! This week it’s all about series, you know, those series that everyone is reading and raving about but for some reason you just can’t find time to start them? I have way more than ten, and even ten felt overwhelming to me, so I’ve decided to highlight my top five instead:
1. The ‘Mancer Series by Ferrett Steinmetz
Everyone who’s read these books loves them, and I know this is my type of series. Maybe once I get my TBR under control??
2. The Expanse Series by James S.A. Corey
And these are only the books that have been published! There are at least three more on the horizon, so I’m going to have to work extra hard to catch up!
3. Empire of Storms by Jon Skovron
Another series that everyone seems to love, so far there are only two books out, with a third on the way.
4. Peter Grant by Ben Aaronovitch
Not only are there six books in this series, but there are a multitude of short stories that have been published as well.
5. The Walkin’ Trilogy by David Towsey
You can tell by the covers that these are Westerns, and I believe they are zombie stories as well.
I actually just picked up the first Peter Grant book for my Kindle over the weekend. I’ve had so many people recommend them to me and you know, my library only has book 5 – go figure. I Mancer series looks good as well and I know I at least own the first one, maybe the second one as well. Whatever you start, hope you love it.

I actually have the first two Mancer books on my Kindle – review copies, which is so bad (I’m feeling eternally guilty for not reading them!).
The only series here that was on my radar was the Mancer series, so I’ll have to go take a look at the others. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the ‘Mancer series is my top pick (or The Expanse, I can’t decide) to start first.
I’ve been wanting to read that Peter Grant series for ages and expanse as well. I’ve heard those are fantastic. Your Brother’s Blood was pretty good but I don’t think the other two are even available in the US so I was a bit bummed about that.

Yeah, I think you’re right about the David Towey series, I think it’s UK? I guess there’s always Book Depository if you want to buy it, but if you want to use the library I guess that won’t work??
Yeah, they’re about $9 a piece on BD. Unfortunately, I didn’t like them that much. lol

I’m reading the Expanse series for a read along and am getting sucked into it, although I wished the first book had more female characters (I’m assured this improves in book two).
I read the first Peter Grant book but wasn’t thrilled by it.
Empire of Storms is one I’ve been meaning to get to.
I’ve seen you posts about the read along (although haven’t commented because I’m not participating). It seems to be the favorite so far:-)
I haven’t read any of these series. But I’ve been meaning to read the Expanse and the Peter Grant series for a while now. I’ve seen the first season of the Expanse tv-show and loved it.

I’ve heard really good things about the Expanse TV show, I’m glad you love it! I feel an overwhelming interest in The Expanse, I have a feeling that’s going to be the series I start first:-)
Great! I’m curious to see what you’ll think about it.

The Expanse, absolutely The Expanse!
Ok, I might be just a tiny bit biased here 😀 but I love this series with a passion: the story and characters grow from book to book, and I wait very impatiently for the issue of each new novel. Oh, and it’s being turned into a successful – and very well crafted – tv series, that is worth a peek, or two.

I’m convinced! Now off to Amazon to buy the first book:-)
Happy reading, then! I can’t wait to see what you think about it 🙂

I have been meaning to start the Mancer series for a while now but I have several UF seris that I need to finish/caught up on before I allow myself to start new ones… 🙁
I voted for the Expanse because that’s the only series on the list I’ve read and even if I am not caught up on (I *only* read four books) so far the story is getting better and better books after books and it’s always a good sign! 🙂
I love when series get better and better, good to know!
I’ve read the first couple of the Expanse series and I’m right up to date with the Peter Grant series – I’ve voted for the latter as it is great fun, though it gets steadily more serious as it goes along, while the Expanse series is amazing, but also quite grim. I think you need to be in certain frame of mind to deal with it, personally…

It’s good to know I’ve picked some series that seem to be well-loved. Sounds like I can’t go wrong with any of them:-)
I’ve just recently picked up copies of Rivers of London and Leviathan Wakes – I can’t wait to dive into them! 🙂
Thanks for visiting my blog, Tammy!
I’m so curious to hear your thoughts if you read them!
I was honestly torn between voting for Peter Grant or the Expanse. Both are among my absolute favorites! Anyway, in the end I decided on PG only because starting that series might be easier, because all the books of the Expanse are freakin’ huge! It’ll also depend on your mood though. If you enjoy urban fantasy with a healthy dose of dry British humor, Rivers of London all the way. For some epic space opera, nothing beats the Expanse – though for me, the series did not start to get mind blowingly good until maybe book 3 or 4 🙂

I’ve got to read the Expanse series, too! I read the first Peter Grant book about two years ago and was slightly underwhelmed, but I think it might’ve been because the audio was sub-par. I’ll have to try the second book in print!

I haven’t read any of them, either, but I did just put a library hold on the first Peter Grant book after reading Mogsy’s review of the latest one.
I’ve read a few first books from these series – such as the Peter Grant books – but I am going to continue. I went for the mancer series in your poll because I’ve actually finished that one and really enjoyed it.
The Expanse series should also have been on my list now I think about it – I’ve had the first book (I think for over two years – picked it up intending to read for SciFi Nov.
