I swear I just did this post for February…how does time go so fast? In any case, welcome to What’s On My Plate, where I share my reading/review plan for the month, and let you know about any other interesting things that will be happening on the blog in March. I didn’t get to as many February review books as I wanted, and March is pretty crowded as well, so we’ll see what happens.
Here are the books I hope to tackle this month:
Most anticipated books of March:
Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker. Book two in Baker’s awesome Arcadia series, I couldn’t be more excited to dive into this!
Star’s End by Cassandra Rose Clarke. Clarke is a favorite author of mine, and after going gaga over her last book, Our Lady of the Ice, I can hardly wait to see what’s up her sleeves next:-D
The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi. I’m excited to be on the Tor blog tour for this book, and my review stop is on the 21st.
Chalk by Paul Cornell. This is a Tor.com novel (as opposed to a novella) and it sounds very dark. This will be my first time reading Cornell.
Shadow Run by AdriAnne Strickland and Michael Miller. “Firefly meets Dune.” Yes please!
Dear Sweet Filthy World by Caitlín R. Kiernan. I recently read and loved Agents of Dreamland by Kiernan, and so I’m very curious to see how I like her short stories.
Pseudotooth by Verity Holloway. This gorgeous cover hides a very odd-sounding story, but I’m looking forward to reading another Unsung Stories book.
From Ice to Ashes by Rhett C. Bruno. This is a new-to-me author, but he’s got several books under his belt. This is a stand alone set in his Titanborn universe.
Game of Shadows by Erika Lewis. I had meant to get to this in February, but things got a little hectic. So I’m reading it this month. This book has some excellent reviews on Goodreads!
Hunted by Meagan Spooner. My YA choice for March, this Beauty and the Beast retelling is getting some very good reviews. Can’t wait!
Standard Hollywood Depravity by Adam Christopher. I love Christopher’s Made to Kill, and this novella is set in the same universe. Hollywood noir with robots!
Giveaways & More:
I’ve got some cool giveaways planned this month! On the 4th (delayed from last month) is my excerpt and giveaway of The Fallen by Tarn Richardson. This is a series I haven’t started yet, but it looks soo good!
Stop by on the 20th for my review and a giveaway of Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker! I’m so excited about this book, and if you’re reading this series then you WON’T want to miss this giveaway!
Just yesterday I found out that I can give away a copy of Scalzi’s The Collapsing Empire during my review blog tour stop on the 21st! So don’t forget to check it out!
And finally, my Book Review Giveaway starts on the 16th, where you can enter to win one of the books I reviewed in February.
Chalk is getting a whole lot of pre-hype. Because of the publisher I just assumed it was a novella.
Also, yay, giveaways!

Tor.com has started publishing novels as well. Chalk looks very dark, but I happen to be a fan of dark so I can’t wait to get to it.
I’m super excited for Phantom Pains! I’ve applied for an ARC on Netgalley. Fingers crossed!
Oh hope you get approved:-)
Lots of good books. I had Game of Shadows last month as well but didn’t get to it. Stormi loved it so I’m convinced I need to make time for it. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale so I want to read Hunted as well eventually. I can’t wait to see what you think of Chalk.

I keep reading really good reviews for Game of Shadows. I may not get to it this month (again!) because I’m not off to a very good start, but it’s definitely going to be read at some point.
Shadow Run! That one caught my attention some time ago, so it’s high time I finally did *something* about it 😀 😀

I’ve read some good reviews, so I’m looking forward to getting to Shadow Run soon:-)
February indeed flew by! Well, it is an exceptionally short month, so maybe those two or three days are all it takes.
Ooh, The Collapsing Empire, count me in 🙂 I’ve heard about that one lately. Others seem interesting too! Seems like you’re having a very sci-fi month.
Meanwhile, I’m three reviews behind and planning my first author interview.

Good luck with your author interview! They can be a lot of fun, although I’ve done some interviews with authors who clearly DON’T like to be interviewed, lol. Fun times:-)
😀 good one 😀 I hope mine won’t be like that! Thanks 🙂

As usual, you have a LOT on your plate this month Tammy! I’m amazed out how much you accomplish every month haha. Ill look forward to you reviews to a bunch of these- I particularly hope you get the chance to review Hunted, The Fallen and Shadow Run! The Fallen sounds crazy interesting! I will definitely be entering that giveaway 😀 And I’m pretty excited that The Collapsing Empire is coming out this month FINALLY *dances* My first Scalzi…
I just got Tarn Richardson’s free prequel, The Hunted from Amazon. Now I’m super curious!
Well, I don’t usually get to everything I plan to read, it’s mostly a “wish list,” I guess! Hey, a girl can dream…
Spoken like a true book love, haha #reviewinglife
For my next read, I’m thinking The Collapsing Empire, Star’s End, or Phantom Pains. Honestly, in terms of levels of excitement, it’s a three-way tie! Maybe I’ll roll some dice to decide 😛

I agree, those three are at the top of my list. I am SO far behind in my reading right now (show choir is kicking my butt!) but I hope to catch up soon. Star’s End is next!
I’m looking forward to a couple of these too!
Lynn 😀
I’m so excited for Phantom Pains! 🙂 I think I’m going to try to listen to it on audio because I loved the production on the first book so much!
I can see how Phantom Pains could be really good on audio, hope you get to listen to it soon!
Looks like it should be a great month! I’m halfway through Phantom Pains right now. Definitely fun to be back with Millie and the Arcadia Project. 🙂
