You may have seen Stolen Songbird floating around the blogosphere lately. It’s the first book in a new fantasy series by Danielle L. Jensen, and it is AMAZING! (you can read my review here) I adored this book, and I’m chomping at the bit to read the next one in the series. Get ready for more words in ALL CAPS, because I’m very excited to be sharing not just one, but three exciting things in one blog post! Thanks to my pals at Strange Chemistry, they’ve not only asked me to reveal the TITLE of Book Two, but they’ve unleashed on the world a FREE short story that is set in the world of Stolen Songbird, which takes place before the events of the book. AND not only that, but Strange Chemistry is giving away FIVE COPIES of Stolen Songbird in either physical or e-book format, winner’s choice, and guess what? It’s an international giveaway! Keep reading and you can enter the giveaway at the end of this post.

Ta da!!!
The story blurb:
Sometimes, one must accomplish the impossible.
Beneath the mountain, the king’s reign of tyranny is absolute; the one troll with the capacity to challenge him is imprisoned for treason. Cécile has escaped the darkness of Trollus, but she learns all too quickly that she is not beyond the reach of the king’s power. Or his manipulation.
Recovered from her injuries, she now lives with her mother in Trianon and graces the opera stage every night. But by day she searches for the witch who has eluded the trolls for five hundred years. Whether she succeeds or fails, the costs to those she cares about will be high.
To find Anushka, she must delve into magic that is both dark and deadly. But the witch is a clever creature. And Cécile might not just be the hunter. She might also be the hunted…
Don’t you love this title? I am so excited to find out that Cécile will be spending time with her mother and singing on stage. Those things were hinted at in the first book, but I didn’t get enough of them. The wait may be long before Hidden Huntress comes out, but in the meantime I have another treat for you: a free, exclusive short story called The Songbird’s Overture that takes place before the events of Stolen Songbird. Simply click on the image below to start reading it right now! And if you haven’t read Stolen Songbird yet, this story is a perfect introduction to the amazing world of trolls Danielle has created.
And now for the giveaway! Big thanks to Strange Chemistry for offering up FIVE COPIES of Stolen Songbird, in either physical or e-book format, whichever the winners prefer. Giveaway is open internationally and ends May 10th. Simply click on the Rafflecopter button below to enter now!

B-b-b-but TRISTAN!? It doesn’t sound like they will be together in HH :'(
Hidden Huntress has lots of chapters from Tristan’s point of view, so don’t worry about him being neglected 😉

Can’t WAIT! Check out my review of Stolen Songbird: http://giantsquidbooks.com/2014/02/13/review-stolen-songbird-by-danielle-l-jensen/
Very cool, Hidden Huntress… it’s the same amount of lettering as book one.
I found Stolen Songbird to be such a delightful gem, so I’ll definitely be awaiting Hidden Huntress to see where all our lovely characters stand. The wait will be a malediction (hehe). I so hope Tristan isn’t getting treated to badly.
I wanted to jump right into the second book after I finished the first one, so I’m super excited that we’re getting little bits of information!
I think Hidden Huntress is a perfect title for book 2. I can’t wait to learn more about Cecile’s mother.
Yay! I’ve been wanting to read this book! Thanks for the giveaway. And the sequel sounds equally as awesome. 🙂
This is a new series for me, so I’m looking forward to reading it!
Interesting title
I judged this book by its cover at first. And then every book blogger was reviewing this and saying really good things about this book and I thought “Oh, maybe I should read the synopsis” and I loved it. The title of the second book is perfect. I’m looking forward to reading this book!
Stolen Songbird sounds really good. Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂

[…] NEWS! Stolen Songbird’s sequel has a title and a blurb, and the exclusive reveal is over at Books Bones, and Buffy! To make the day even more fun, we have a prequel short story I wrote called The Songbird’s […]
I like how the title starts with the same letters, just like book 1. Off to read the short story. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of Stolen Songbird 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, Petra, and good luck!
Haven’t had a chance to read anything yet, but it’s always nice to see a fresh Canadian author getting some props! The stories look great, can’t wait to read them!

Christina R. in the rafflecopter
I really love the second title because it has the same alliteration as the first title, and the title reflects what the main character will be doing in the plot.
Thank you 🙂
Hidden Huntress! Aaaah! So excited about my new obsessing-over-it series! Tristan and Cecile, I need you to survive book 2 and get back together.
Gah! Spoiler! I can’t believe I did that! DELETE! DELETE!
So, as pathetic as I would sound right now, I had never heard about the Stolen Songbird. Yeah, I live in a world where almost all teens are obsessed about selfies, and I don’t exactly have many libraries to go to if I want to read some book, but that is NOT an excuse for not hearing nor reading an awesome book like this one. Of course I, being me, liking sci-fi and romance and action all in one, would love to read this book! AND it’s complex. There is nothing more on this world that I love more than complex books.
A giveaway? YES, PLEASE!
Eeek!! Thanks for this reveal:D I haven’t actually read the stolen songbird but I’ve heard great things about it! Thanks for hosting this giveaway 🙂
Really love the titles of these series. Makes me want to read them even more.
wow, its international, nice
This looks fantastic. Def gone straight on the tbr! 🙂 Laura x
I was recommended Stolen Songbird (it was already on my list). It sounds right up my alley. I really need to hurry up and get to reading! I have been loving short stories lately. Can’t wait to love this series. I have a feeling I will given the exciting sequel title!
Ooooh, such an intriguing title! Can’t wait to read it!
– Shae/Shelver
Omg the second title sounds amazing! Cannot wait to read it!!
I have not yet read the prequel, but I will definitely be hopping over to do so. I have been intrigued by this series since first seeing the cover art, shallow I know, but it is so lovely 😉 The title for book two is definitely intriguing and right up my alley. Looking forward to reading these treats.
Were the winners announced somewhere?
I haven’t announced them yet, hopefully today…
Again, this is a super nice cover 😀 And Anushka sounds like a great main character name! I can’t wait to try this… I am into kingdom stuff as well!

I’m really love this book from the first sight and really hate when it’s over.
Can’t wait for #2
