Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share the books we’re excited about. Head on over if you’d like to participate yourself! This week I was thrilled to run across Sarah Skilton’s next book, High & Dry. I read her debut Bruised earlier this year and loved it. This looks like another standalone novel, which is a very good thing. Here’s more about the book:
High & Dry by Sarah Skilton. Release date: April 15 2014 (Amulet Books). I met Sarah at a book signing back in March, and I remember her talking about High & Dry, so it’s pretty exciting to see the cover! Here is a (brief) description of the story from Sarah’s website:
Framed for a stranger’s near-fatal overdose at a party, blackmailed into finding a mysterious flash drive everyone in school seems anxious to suppress, and pressured by his shady best friend to throw an upcoming game, high school soccer player Charlie Dixon spends a frantic week trying to clear his name, win back the girl of his dreams, and escape a past that may be responsible for all his current problems.
This story sounds like a bunch of fun, and I can’t wait to read it. While you’re waiting, why not read Bruised? You can read my review here if you missed it.
What are you waiting on this week?
Great pick! I still haven’t read Bruised even though it’s on my wishlist but High & Dry sounds so good!
My WoW!
InInteresting picks. I haven’t heard o either one until now. Thank you for sharing.
High & Dry does sound good! And thanks for the reminder about Bruised 🙂 The two book covers actually coordinate well, don’t they? Yay for standalone novels!
I’ve never heard of this book! Though I have heard of Bruised. Interesting covers – very different. April is soooo far away D:
Hope you get to read High & Dry sometime soon, Tammy!
