Waiting on Wednesday [243] – AN OATH OF DOGS by Wendy N. Wagner

Waiting on Wednesday is the brainchild of Breaking the Spine, although Jill isn’t hosting this meme anymore. In any case, I will continue to post Waiting on Wednesdays, simply because it’s one of my favorite posts to do each week:-D

Another cover reveal to celebrate! I’ve had this book on my TBR since before I saw the cover, so you can imagine my interest tripled after this gorgeousness was revealed:

Kate Standish has been on Huginn less than a week and she s already pretty sure her new company murdered her boss. But extractions corporations dominate the communities of the forest world, and few are willing to threaten their meal tickets to look too closely at corporate misbehaviour. The little town of mill workers and farmers is more worried about the threat of eco-terrorism and a series of attacks by the bizarre, sentient dogs of this planet, than a death most people would like to believe is an accident. When Standish connects a secret chemical test site to a nearly forgotten disaster in Huginn s history, she reveals a conspiracy that threatens Standish and everyone she s come to care about.

An Oath of Dogs by Wendy N. Wagner. Releases in July 2017 from Angry Robot. I highly recommend you check out the actual cover reveal on Tor.com, where the author talks about her inspiration for this story. I am a HUGE dog person, and even though she claims she isn’t, I’m not sure I believe her after reading the Tor.com article. **Also, Angry Robot is donating $1 from each pre-order to a service dog charity, so click on that link to learn more! In any case, look at that cover! Are you drooling like me? That’s a Joey Hi-Fi cover, people!

Let me know what you’re waiting on this week:-D

  1. That article is soo sweet! I’m writing a story that involves a sentient fantasy race of Mexican wolfhounds, so the author’s reminiscences about “working dogs” completely sold me <3 <3 And the cover doesn't hurt, either Lol Just added this to my tbr, thanks so much for highlighting it!

  2. I looooove that sea green cover! This one and ACOWAR’s cover have such a great color scheme. That is so cool, what Angry Robot is doing! I feel like big publishers should do things like that too. πŸ˜€ I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it!

Have a lovely week, Tammy. =)

  3. I’m so pleased this one finally got a cover…and WHAT A COVER. I really like it, which isn’t something I would say about most AR covers these days. Joey Hi-Fi always does good work though. And thanks for the link to the info about the charity! I’m definitely looking into this.
