Waiting on Wednesday is the brainchild of Breaking the Spine, although Jill isn’t hosting this meme anymore. In any case, I will continue to post Waiting on Wednesdays, simply because it’s one of my favorite posts to do each week:-D
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for this book! Jeff Noon has written some of my favorite books, and if you’ve never heard of him, it’s probably because it’s been YEARS since he’s had anything new published. Looks like Angry Robot has snagged him, though, check out this amazing cover:
Below the neon skies of Dayzone – where the lights never go out, and night has been banished – lowly private eye John Nyquist takes on a teenage runaway case. His quest takes him from Dayzone into the permanent dark of Nocturna.
As the vicious, seemingly invisible serial killer known only as Quicksilver haunts the streets, Nyquist starts to suspect that the runaway girl holds within her the key to the city’s fate. In the end, there’s only one place left to search: the shadow-choked zone known as Dusk.
A Man of Shadows by Jeff Noon. Releases in August 2017 from Angry Robot. Two of my favorite SF books of all time are Noon’s Vurt and Pollen. I haven’t read them in years, so I’m curious to see if Noon’s writing will still appeal to me. I’m thinking it will:-) And what do you think of this cool cover? (Artwork by Will Staehle.)
I love how it sounds like it mixes sci-fi with mystery elements. It also has a noir feeling to it. Gee, I don’t know how I got all that from a short blurb. I will be keeping my eye open for some reviews on this one because it may be one I want to pick up.

Woah, two of your *favorites*… I don’t throw around the word “favorite” often, so I always perk up when people talk about favorites. I hope you love this book when you get the chance to read it!
Have a fabulous week, Tammy. =)

I’ve never heard of him, so I’m really excited to hear that his work’s been picked up by Angry Robot! It’s always good news when a favourite author has a new release, and stunning cover art doesn’t hurt either. 😉
