Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers.
I couldn’t be happier or more thrilled about this week’s pick! R.S. Belcher is a favorite author of mine, and I believe this cover was recently revealed:
1870. Maude Stapleton, late of Golgotha, Nevada, is a respectable widow raising a daughter on her own. Few know that Maude belongs to an ancient order of assassins, the Daughters of Lilith, and is as well the great-great-great-great-granddaughter of Anne Bonney, the legendary female pirate.
Leaving Golgotha in search of her daughter Constance, who has been taken from her, Maude travels to Charleston, South Carolina, only to find herself caught in the middle of a secret war between the Daughters of Lilith and their ancestral enemies, the monstrous Sons of Typhon. To save Constance, whose prophetic gifts are sought by both cults, Maude must follow in the footsteps of Anne Bonney as she embarks on a perilous voyage that will ultimately lead her to a lost city of bones in the heart of Africa—and the Father of All Monsters.
The Queen of Swords by R.S. Belcher, releases in June 2017 from Tor Books. This story is definitely set in the same world as The Six-Gun Tarot and The Shotgun Arcana, but Goodreads isn’t indicating that this is “Book #3” in the series. However, it looks like it takes place after the events of the last book, and the style of the artwork on the cover definitely fits with the rest of the series. ANYWAY, I can’t tell you how excited I am to dive back into this world! I love Belcher’s characters, and check out this cover—lady pirate!!! Aaaahhhh give this to me now!
Have you read these books? Let me know what you’re waiting on:-D
I’ve not come across this series before, but the covers are so cool!

I agree, I love the covers. The books are even better!
I haven’t read the other books in this, but I love those covers and they may need to be something I add to my shelf. I just snagged a hardback copy of Brotherhood of the Wheel for under $3.00 from Book Outlet and am waiting impatiently for it to arrive. Thanks for sharing this one!

The thread about the Daughters of Lilith was one of the most intriguing in the narrative arc for “Six Gun Tarot”, so I’m quite curious about this one, although I still need to read book 2. All in good time… all in good time… 😉

The book takes place shortly after THE SHOTGUN ARCANA, but mostly follows Maude on her adventures instead of staying in Golgotha. So it’s more of a “Maude” novel than a “Golgotha” novel if you know what I mean.
Yes, I had heard that. I’m very excited because Maude is a favorite of mine. Thanks Greg!
