Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine, and is a fun way to share upcoming books that you’re excited about with other bloggers and readers.
Won’t you all scream along with me? COVER REVEAL! I’ve been waiting for this cover to pop up, and I love it. It fits so well with the cover of Every Heart a Doorway, and I can’t tell you how excited I am for this book!
Twin sisters Jack and Jill were seventeen when they found their way home and were packed off to Eleanor West’s Home for Wayward Children.
This is the story of what happened first…
Jacqueline was her mother’s perfect daughter—polite and quiet, always dressed as a princess. If her mother was sometimes a little strict, it’s because crafting the perfect daughter takes discipline.
Jillian was her father’s perfect daughter—adventurous, thrill-seeking, and a bit of a tom-boy. He really would have preferred a son, but you work with what you’ve got.
They were five when they learned that grown-ups can’t be trusted.
They were twelve when they walked down the impossible staircase and discovered that the pretense of love can never be enough to prepare you a life filled with magic in a land filled with mad scientists and death and choices.
Down Among the Sticks and Bones (Wayward Children #2) by Seanan McGuire. Releases in June 2017 from Tor.com. I’m not sure I can wait that long, jeez! I’m totally in love with this cover, it also suggests a magical doorway, which is what these stories are all about. Jack and Jill were side characters in Every Heart a Doorway, so I’m excited to read more about them.
Are you reading this series? Let me know what you’re waiting on:-D
ohh, I just recently purchased Every Heart a Doorway. I hope I’ll like it bc I still have to read it, but from you post I think I will. And then the sweet torture in anticipating the sequel will come…

It was SO good, Irena! I hope you get the chance to read it soon:-)
These are some of the best covers I’ve seen lately and I’m so glad this cover has finally been released. Words can’t really express how much I loved the first book and I’m really looking forward to reading the next installment. It’s sooooo far away though!

You’re right, the covers are awesome and so are the blurbs. Seems like a really intriguing story. I haven’t read the first book but you got me curious now. Thanks for bringing this to my attention 🙂
Happy Wednesday!

I really enjoyed the first book but wish it had been a novel instead of a novella. I wanted more world building and character development! I am absurdly happy that there are follow-ups planned though. Thanks for sharing!
As a McGuire fan, this is indeed a must for me: I loved Every Heart a Doorway, and this one promises to be just as good. I need to set myself an alert for this one, June is quite far away and my memory is beyond faulty! 😀

I did see there was a sequel to Every Heart a Doorway, but even if I hadn’t known I think that cover would have clued me in right away. I agree, it fits so well! Now I have to start the series 🙂

Hmm, I haven’t heard of this series. The synopsis isn’t doing much for me, but I love the cover. 😀 I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!

This one looks interesting (I’m kind of in love with that cover). I haven’t read the first book in the series yet. Yet another book that’s going on my TBR pile. 😛
